𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗖𝗜𝗢 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀

Led by 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗔. 𝗥𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 (for both CIOF and Global CIO Forum), the World CIO 200 Summit Philippines was successfully held at the 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮 last 𝟮𝟵 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲.

The Secure Code Tournament

This event organized by OpenText Philippines, in cooperation with the Chief Information Officers Forum (CIOF), was successfully held on 11 March 2026 at the 38th Floor, RCBC Plaza Tower II, Makati City. The event was attended by programmers and IT professionals from various government agencies to enhance their secure coding skills and cybersecurity awareness.
CIOF President Arlene Romasanta delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of building secure and resilient digital systems and embedding cybersecurity throughout the software development lifecycle. This was followed by two insightful presentations:

Securing Quality at Speed: Intelligent, End-to-End DevSecOps and Vibe Coding: A Practical Guide to Updating Your AppSec Strategy for AI.

Through initiatives like this tournament, Secure Code Warrior, OpenText Philippines, and CIOF continue to promote cybersecurity awareness, strengthen the skills of government developers, and foster collaboration toward a stronger, more secure digital ecosystem.

𝗚𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝘆𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁

The CIOF President, Arlene A. Romasanta, was invited to participate in a cross-sector resilience panel discussion on Cybersecurity Strategies for Securing Critical Infrastructure in the Philippines last 02 March 2026 at Fairmont Makati, Manila, Philippines.

Being the DENR Director and CIO, she also emphasized that one of the biggest challenges is the lack of Cybersecurity Talents and so she said that we need to push for cybersecurity plantilla positions in the government and to support the Magna Carta for ICT workers as well. This is celebrated with applause from the audience.
