🐱 International Cat Day, but make it a day for advocacy. 💛

We celebrated Pet Walk Duo at Odd Cafe with Cebuana Lhuillier's Pet Club, where Cats of Salcedo Village had the opportunity to share what we do and shine a light on the realities of being a community cat.

We talked about the challenges our street cats face every day: getting hit by cars, battling illnesses like CKD and FIP, and waiting for a forever home that may never come. Behind every cute community cat is a story, and sometimes, that story is one of survival.

We’re incredibly grateful to PJLI's Pet Club for giving us a platform to share our advocacy and for blessing our cats with cat food and p*e pads! 🐾

Because advocacy starts with awareness. And sometimes, making a difference starts with simply seeing a cat, caring about them, and choosing to help. 💛

Meet Bonbon. 🧡🐾

Bonbon was reported to us just last week. He was so tiny, likely only a few weeks to a month old, and we knew he wouldn’t survive on his own.

But despite everything, Bonbon greeted us with the loudest little meows and the sweetest, friendliest personality. 🥹

When one of our volunteers, M, heard about him, she immediately took Bonbon under her wing. We’re incredibly grateful to her, especially as she has already rescued three other kittens who were dumped in the park. It truly takes a village. 🤍

Now, Bonbon is safe, has been checked by the vet, and is ready for the next chapter:

A forever home. 🏡

He got his second chance. Maybe you’re the person meant to make it forever.

Adopt Bonbon. 🧡

Just one week after leaving the streets and entering foster care, Joey was diagnosed with FIP. We feared the worst, but thanks to the incredible support of our little community and PCBP Animal Hospital, this little orange fighter got the chance he deserved.

Today, Joey is healthy, loved, and living his best indoor life with his forever family.

Every adoption saves a life. Every donation gives another cat a chance. And every share helps stories like Joey's become possible.

Here's to many more happy endings. 🐾🧡

🐾 IMPORTANT COMMUNITY NOTICE 🐾

At Cats of Salcedo Village, our mission is to care for and protect our community cats. To keep our village safe and transparent, we need to address three crucial points:

❌ NO DUMPING OF CATS

Salcedo Village is not an animal shelter. Abandoning animals here is illegal (RA 8485) and puts cats in severe danger. If you can no longer care for a pet, dumping them on the street is never the answer. Rehome responsibly.

🛑 NO DUMPING OR TRANSFERRING CATS ELSEWHERE

To be 100% clear: Cats of Salcedo Village will NEVER instruct, advise, or condone moving cats from our area and dumping or transferring them to another neighborhood or public space. Relocating cats without proper, humane protocols is harmful, illegal, and against everything we stand for.

🤝 ZERO TOLERANCE FOR RUDENESS

Animal welfare requires collaboration, but we will not tolerate rudeness, harassment, or hostility from other volunteer groups or individuals toward our team. Our volunteers give their personal time and heart to this cause—respect is non-negotiable. Hostile behavior will result in an immediate block.

Let’s keep our community compassionate, responsible, and respectful—for the cats and the humans looking after them. 💙

I met Jacob one night, after several days of trying to catch a sick cat that looked just like him. He was fast and lively, a stark contrast to the way he looked the next time I saw him months later, in a carrier and on the way to the vet.

When the vet told us the grim diagnosis, our hearts broke. But somehow, through it all, Jacob’s spirit never did, and he fought: for one more day, one more visit from the volunteers, one more opportunity to walk the halls of the vet hospital, and to his final foster home. He fought until his small, frail body couldn’t anymore. He fought until all those who loved him — and all us did — knew it was time to show him that last act of love: to let him rest.

Jacob may have passed, but I will never forget his trusting nature, his desire for human touch, and most of all: that he fought so hard to live.

How Jingjing survived, we’ll never know.

She disappeared for some time. When she was finally found, she was painfully thin and missing an entire limb, including her paw.

Somehow, she endured unimaginable pain and kept fighting to stay alive.

Now, she needs our help. The veterinarian has recommended amputation to give her the best chance at a pain free life.

Any amount goes a long way. If Jingjing made it this far on her own, let’s give her the fighting chance she deserves.

🐾 Donation details are in the last slide.

After being captured and brought to the vet, we were able to take a clear photo of the situation.

The night Jingjing’s feeder saw her 💔

May 2026. So sweet and full of life 🥀

Help us help Jingjing 🙏🏻
