Almost a year has passed since I was inducted as President (UGP) of the Rotary Club of Makati Pio del Pilar.
Behind this leadership role came many challenges, responsibilities, and commitments in fulfilling our plans and projects. I vividly remember how Gov Reggie Nolido encouraged and inspired me to take the lead, particularly in spearheading Ligoland for the street children of the Ermita community, along with many other meaningful initiatives.
On June 25, 2026, I will formally hand over the key of responsibility to my incoming President, PE Leigh. By God's grace, I am hopeful that the remaining unfinished tasks will be completed before the end of June.
I thank the Lord for granting me the courage, wisdom, and faith to carry out this responsibility. I am equally grateful for the unwavering support of my Board of Directors, whose dedication helped make our projects and programs successful.
My heart is filled with joy and gratitude because, during my term, I was blessed with opportunities to touch more lives and make a greater difference than I could have ever imagined. As I prepare to pass on this responsibility, my prayer is for the sustainability and continued growth of the projects we have started, so that they may continue to bring hope and positive change to many lives.
To God be all the glory and praise!
"Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established." — Proverbs 16:3

A Legacy of Humanitarian Care for Street Dwellers

As part of its continuing humanitarian mission, RC Makati Pio del Pilar saw the need to support a regularly conducted bathing activities for homeless children in the Ermita community. Every week, at least 60 children are given the opportunity to take a refreshing bath on the grounds of the Central United Methodist Church, helping promote hygiene, dignity, and preventive healthcare among some of the city's most vulnerable residents.

This month marks another significant milestone in this advocacy, as a modular foldable bathroom will be delivered and installed to better serve the needs of these children and other marginalized individuals in the community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rotary Club of Makati, under the leadership of UGP Eddie Galvez, for generously donating this portable bathroom facility. Their support will greatly enhance our efforts to provide proper hygiene, comfort, and preventive care to homeless children and disadvantaged adults.
This project reflects our shared commitment to serving humanity with compassion and restoring hope, dignity, and well-being to those who need it most.

Together, we make a difference—one act of kindness, one child, and one life at a time. ❤️

Service Above Self.

KUMUT – Kung Umuulan, May Umaasang Tutulungan

As typhoons and heavy rains are once again being announced across the country, we remember that the Rotary Club of Makati Pio del Pilar immediately mobilized to help calamity-stricken and less fortunate communities last year. It was a benevolent work of our club carried out during the successive typhoons and severe flooding that affected many families lost their homes, belongings, and means of livelihood.

Under the leadership of UGP Dr. Josephine G. Pamintuan, we continue this mission through KUMUT (Kung Umuulan, May Umaasang Tutulungan)—a project that provides comfort, warmth, and hope to vulnerable individuals and families affected by heavy rains and flooding.

Over the years, our outreach efforts have reached communities around Ermita, Manila, families residing near the Manila South Cemetery, indigenous and tribal groups in Palawan, and marginalized workers in Mandaluyong. These communities continue to inspire us with their resilience despite the challenges they face.

In times of calamity, a simple blanket, towel, or act of kindness can bring comfort and reassurance. Through KUMUT, we are reminded that when the rains come, there will always be people willing to help and communities united in service.
Together, we can be a source of hope—one KUMUT at a time.

# to the Community Through Financial Literacy #

It was a privilege to conduct a Financial Literacy Program for the public school teachers of Lumang Bahay. Through this initiative, we shared practical knowledge on budgeting, saving, financial protection, and future planning to help empower Filipino families and communities.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Vanj Bedrero for the opportunity to serve and educate her dedicated teachers. Together, we continue to promote financial literacy and help build a brighter and more secure future for our fellow Filipinos.
God be praised!
