Turning DR-TB guidance into better care takes learning how those guidelines get translated into practice in real health systems.

Through the Regional Capacity Building Program for Southeast Asia, health professionals from seven countries came together to exchange experiences, work through common implementation challenges, visit health facilities, and develop practical next steps for their own programs.

From patient pathways to field-based learning, the four-day program focused on helping countries strengthen drug-resistant care.

Now on its last day, the PeerLINC Regional Capacity Building Program for Southeast Asia continues to bring together TB program leaders, public health professionals, and partners working to strengthen drug-resistant tuberculosis care across the region. 🌏️

During the opening program, Mr. Patrick Angeles, Program Officer for Health Partnerships at the Australian Embassy in the Philippines, highlighted the importance of regional cooperation, peer learning, and people-to-people partnerships in addressing shared health challenges.

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗧𝗕 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗧𝗕? 𝗜𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗯𝗲 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗮𝘀𝗶𝘀

Because it resembles TB symptoms, it can be tricky to differentiate Paragonimiasis from TB. To be sure, ask whether the patient has eaten crayfish or crabs (especially when eaten raw or undercooked), and check for Paragonimus eggs through sputum microscopy.
