A very engaging and informative learning seminar by the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Central for the student leaders and members of the Interact Club of Highway Hills Integrated School.

Past President Meg Marzan provided a very comprehensive yet concise course on the qualities of a good leader and how best to handle leadership roles in school and personal life.

🔧 GENERAL WELDING PROCESSES SEMINAR: Building Skills, Building Dreams 👨‍🏭

On February 26, 2026, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Central, in collaboration with PWS, hosted the seminar “General Welding Processes for Welding and Non-Welding Practitioners.” The event was a day-long program designed to empower participants with essential knowledge about welding processes, while also highlighting Rotary’s commitment to education and community development.

A Day of Learning and Inspiration

The program began with registration and opening ceremonies, including an invocation by Mr. Alf Emmanuel A. Bascos and the national anthem led by Ms. Leslie Lamera. Warm welcome remarks were delivered by Mr. Isidro Millo, Past President of PWS, followed by acknowledgements from Mr. Reynaldo Dela Cruz Jr., Corporate Treasurer.

An inspirational message was shared by Mr. Edgard M. Reyes, President of the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Central, reminding participants of the value of technical skills in uplifting communities. Closing remarks were given by Mr. Tosh Eleazar, Vice-President of PWS, before the orientation and seminar proper commenced.

The seminar itself ran from 10:30 AM to 4:50 PM, with sessions designed to provide both practitioners and non-practitioners with practical insights into welding processes. The day was guided smoothly by emcees Mr. Alf Emmanuel A. Bascos and Ms. Leslie Lamera, ensuring an engaging and well-structured flow.

Sustaining Opportunities Through Rotary

Beyond the seminar, the event also recognized the enduring impact of Rotary initiatives. Past President Gerald Gallardo was acknowledged for applying the Global Grant for the Welding Facility during the term of Past President Margaret Canlas (RY 2022–23). This facility remains sustainable and impactful, continuing to help students gain valuable skills in welding.

Through this facility, countless young learners have been able to pursue their education, develop technical expertise, and move closer to achieving their dreams. It stands as a testament to Rotary’s vision of service and sustainability, an investment in people that continues to bear fruit years later.

A Commitment to Service and Growth

The seminar was more than just a technical training, it was a celebration of collaboration, service, and the power of education. By equipping participants with knowledge and recognizing the sustainable projects that support students, the Rotary Club of Mandaluyong Central and PWS reaffirmed their mission to unite for good and build brighter futures.
