Am I the only one?
This post is not about politics — it’s about a concerned parent speaking from the heart.
I’m a single mom of three children. Every day, I worry about their future.
The corruption in our country seems endless, and we are the ones who suffer the most. Prices keep going up, but salaries stay the same — or worse, they're not even enough to survive. Inflation is hitting us hard. Basic needs like food, transportation, and education have become a daily struggle.
I pay my taxes, even when I have no choice, but what do we get in return? There’s no proper healthcare, no safety, no real support for working families like mine. Public hospitals are overcrowded, underfunded, and often can’t even provide the most basic care.
I’m scared. What kind of future awaits our children if nothing changes?
I hope Filipinos wake up. We deserve better. Not just the rich, who can leave this country anytime and start over somewhere else. But what about us — the ordinary people who can’t afford to migrate? Where is our backup plan?
It’s really hard to live in a country where there is so little opportunity, and where the system fails the people it’s supposed to protect.
We are stuck in a country that seems to have forgotten us. And I’m tired. Tired of pretending everything is okay. Tired of staying silent. Tired of waiting for change that never comes.
I just want a future for my children. A safe, fair, and livable future — is that too much to ask?
Please, let’s wake up. We all deserve better. 🇵🇭💔
