Barbara’s journey with GLAMSA began long before her presidency. She first served as Vice-President, and even during her time in the Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) – San Antonio as Head Committee of Gender and Development Sensitivity, she ensured her initiatives aligned with GLAMSA’s mission. Through projects such as the Differences of S*x and Gender Seminar, Gender Roles & Misconceptions, and Breaking the Stigma: HIV Talk, she helped strengthen the organization’s commitment to awareness, education, and inclusion.

A trailblazer in her own right, Barbara pioneered San Antonio’s first-ever Pride Parade in 2020, marking a historic milestone for the community. She also spearheaded crucial HIV awareness programs, helping mitigate rising cases and combat stigma.

Recently appointed as Secretary of the GLAM Federation of Makati, she continued her impactful work by leading major federation events including Spread the Love 2024 & 2025 and GLAM-Ball 2025.

Her unwavering advocacy for the LGBTQIA+ community and HIV awareness has shaped GLAMSA’s identity and direction.

As she steps down to focus on her personal endeavors, Barbara will continue to serve and guide the organization as an Adviser of GLAM-San Antonio.

GLAMSA is also proud to announce that Jearnes Barbo, the current Vice-President, will now step in as her successor and serve as the new President of GLAM-San Antonio.
