Today, August 22, the Cofradรญa de la Virgen de la Rosa de Macati extends its prayerful greetings on the occassion of the Pontifical Coronation of Maria Auxiliadora de los Cristianos de Pangasinan, solemnly crowned on August 22, 2018, at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist in Dagupan.

The image of Mary, Help of Christians has a special place in the history of priestly formation in Pangasinan. Given as a gift to the Mary, Help of Christians Minor Seminary by then Papal Nuncio Archbishop William Piani to Bishop Cesar Ma. Guerrero, the image has long been venerated as a loving mother and guide to generations of seminarians discerning the call to the priesthood.

Through her maternal intercession, may she continue to accompany those who seek to follow Christ, strengthening them in faith, perseverance, and generous service to the Church.

May Mary, Help of Christians, ever lead us closer to her Son and teach us to remain steadfast in faith and faithful in our vocation.

On this anniversary, the Cofradรญa de la Virgen de la Rosa de Macati extends its prayerful greetings on the sixth anniversary of the Canonical Coronation of Nuestra Seรฑora de Lourdes de Retiro, solemnly crowned on August 22, 2020, on the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The devotion to Our Lady of Lourdes in the Philippines traces its roots to the late nineteenth century, and the venerable image now venerated in Retiro carries with it a remarkable history of faith, perseverance, and filial devotion. Having been preserved through years of trial and displacement, the image continues to draw the faithful to the maternal care and intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

May Our Lady continue to lead us closer to her Son, Jesus Christ, and obtain for us the grace of renewed faith, sincere repentance, and steadfast prayer.

On 22 August, the Church celebrates the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, instituted by Pope Pius XII in 1954 through the encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam.

Maryโ€™s queenship flows from her unique union with her Son, Jesus Christ, the King. As the Mother of God and the one who faithfully shared in the mystery of Christโ€™s life and redemptive mission, she is honored as Queen of Heaven and Earth. Her royal dignity is not one of worldly power, but of humble service, maternal love, and perfect obedience to God.

Celebrated on the octave day of the Solemnity of the Assumption, this memorial invites us to look to Mary, glorified with her Son, as our loving Mother and Queen, and to entrust ourselves to her maternal intercession as she leads us ever closer to Christ.
