When a massive storm hit Makati and BGC at 6 PM last Thursday, we knew it would take something special to get people out. But the construction industry is built tough! Over 70 incredible members and guests braved the weather to pack out the Sage Bar at the Shangri-La for our Summer Get Together. ๐Ÿฅ‚โœจ

The night was an absolute reminder of what makes the Lighthouse Club Manila so special:

Mental health awareness remains an important topic within the construction industry, and this training reflects the commitment of Lighthouse Club members to better support colleagues, friends, and the wider community.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and across the construction industry, this matters more than most.

The Department of Labor and Employment's own Institute for Labor Studies has confirmed that 72% of Filipino workers experience stress at least twice a week (BusinessMirror, Jan 2025).

Every working day in the UK, two construction workers take their own lives.

The drivers are familiar to all of us: long hours, project pressure, time away from family, and a culture where "tough it out" is still the default.
