Tanghalang Una Obra is bringing the highly acclaimed Filipino original musical "Ibarra" to the stage once again for a limited run.
Billed as "Ibarra…Ngayon," the award-winning theatrical production will feature GMA artist Derrick Monasterio in his biggest role to date. Monasterio takes over the role originally brought to life by A-lister Piolo Pascual who received accolades when he performed the role in 2023.
The winning team remains the same: Joed Balsamo composed the music from Jomar Fleras’s timeless script and libretto, under the direction of Frannie Zamora. Anthony Cruz created the movement and choreography, Lighting director is D Villanueva Cortezano, TJ Ramos is the sound engineer, Mio Infante heads the stage design and costume teams, technical director is Joseph Mattheu, Sonny Aniceto is in charge of production and graphic design.
The Government Service and Insurance System and Nickel Asia Corporation join forces with Tanghalang Una Obra in the staging of this musical, and the producers have chosen Rise Against Hunger Philippines as their beneficiaries.
