Manila Hub Goes to Geneva!
The Global Shapers Annual Summit 2026 brought together 450+ young changemakers from over 140 countries in Geneva, Switzerland, to explore this year's theme, Signals of the Future.
Representing the Global Shapers Manila Hub were our Curator, Nicole Blue David, and former Curator, now Community Champion for Maritime Southeast Asia, Justine Lyris Bacay, who joined three days of learning, collaboration, and dialogue on the ideas, technologies, and trends shaping tomorrow.
Beyond participating in the Summit, Justine also co-facilitated a session titled "Leading from Within: Sustaining Hub Wellbeing.”
Reflecting on the experience, Nicole shared: "The most important thing I take away from this summit isn't a talk, a workshop, or a new connection. It's the realization that while our contexts differ, our responsibility is shared. We each have a role to play in shaping a more inclusive, resilient, and hopeful future. I leave reminded that the future isn't built by the loudest voices, but by people who consistently choose to serve, collaborate, and act. The real work starts when we go home."
Justine echoed the spirit of the Global Shapers Community: "Shapers prove that the future isn’t inherited, it’s built by those bold enough to lead right where they stand. When 450+ young leaders move in sync, the signals ahead surge into unstoppable momentum."
As our delegates return home, they bring with them new perspectives, meaningful connections, and renewed inspiration to continue creating impact. The conversations may have ended in Geneva, but the work continues in Manila.
