Citizen Power Movement, Youth and Students Sector (CPM-YSS)

The Citizen Power Movement is an organization dedicated to the pursuit of democratic reforms; preferential option for the poor; Satyagraha or non-violence; civilian supremacy and the rule of law and reason; and the right and duty of every citizen in nation building. In 2010 the organization initiated to be accredited as one of the duly registered organizations under party list system, and eventually has been accredited but opted not to run and or participate due to lack of confidence in the matter of conducting the last election. Thereafter the Cagayan de Oro City- Northeastern Mindanao area office from its defunct organization; Citizen Power Movement Inc. continues to operate and translate policies from politics to economics in the youth sector, further, we continue to see serve the region through our major advocacy programs under the banner of the CPM- Youth and Students Sector. In 2012 the CPM - Youth and Students Sector became a major organization doing consultancy work in the field of youth and students sector under the banner of " Center for Strategic, Integrative, and Sustainable Youth Development". In July 29, 2013, the organization was officially registered as an independent organization under the Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP) of the National Youth Commission as a National Organization. In the same month, Citizen Power Movement- Youth and Students Sector, became part of the Bridging Leaders for Sustainable Development (BLSD) Inc.as its Youth and Social Outreach (YSO) Unit.
