โ€‹The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA), represented by Director of Operations Ms. Magnolia Alano, recently joined DTI Philippines Secretary Cristina Roque at the Buyersโ€™ Day 2026: Flavors & Connections in Makati.

โ€‹As a pre-event for the National Food Fair (NFF), this gathering opened vital doors for linking our member-hotels with high-quality local MSMEs. PHOA is dedicated to supporting the community by exploring ways to integrate more Filipino-made products into the hospitality supply chain.

โ€‹Looking ahead, we are exploring the possibility of hosting a dedicated MSME hospitality fair. Such an initiative could serve as a bridge, allowing hotel owners to source directly from local producers, further championing the "Support Local" movement and driving sustainable growth in our industry.

โ€‹Together, we can elevate the Filipino brand through authentic local flavors and craftsmanship.

The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) recently participated in the Joint Public Hearing on the Abolition of Travel Tax, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach that ensures the continued development of our nation's tourism infrastructure. While we recognize the importance of making travel more accessible, we maintain that the revenue generated from the travel tax remains a critical resource for the TIEZA - Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority to fund essential projects across the archipelago. We remain committed to working closely with our legislators to explore sustainable funding models that support the hospitality sector's growth without compromising the vital investments needed to keep the Philippines a world-class destination.

โ€‹The Philippine Hotel Owners Association (PHOA) successfully held its 1st Quarter 2026 Board of Directors (BOD) Regular Meeting today, February 27, at the PHOA Office in Makati City.
