The Young Women Christian Association (YWCA) of Makati is a non-profit, service-oriented organization which was founded in 1976 by Josefina D. Pineda. Its' programs and projects are focused on the wholistic transformation of women and girls in body, mind and spirit. It aims to develop the leadership, collective power of women and girls around the world, to achieve human rights, health, dignity, se
curity, freedom, justice and peace. YWCA of Makati is affiliated with YWCA of the Philippines, a Member Association of the World YWCA. The YWCA movement is one of the oldest women organization in the world whose purpose is to develop and empower women and girls' leadership capacity in dynamic partnership with men and other agencies. “To build a fellowship among women and girls that will give them courage to face the challenges of their day with intelligence, conviction, integrity and faith;
To develop a leadership and collective power of women and youth to achieve human rights, health security, dignity, freedom, education, justice and peace for all people through training for competence and skills of leadership, experiential learning, cooperative learning and other models and strategies for effective teaching, learning and service;
To provide programs and projects that will enable young women to maximize their leadership skills and to become society’s partners in social transformation.”

All YWCA of Makati programs have an underlying values formation aspect.
1. Saturday Bible Class: It aims to teach children the values of body, mind and spirit.
2. Scholarship Grants (Elementary – College): Aim to support under privileged girls in the community.
3. Partnership/Linkages:
3.1 Soup Kitchen: A monthly program aim to reach various communities and provide physical, mental and spiritual development. This also provides leadership trainings for the women and youth by becoming part of task force of the program.
