August 11, 2026 | Virtual via Zoom — The Philippine Society for Quality (PSQ) continued to advance digital thinking and data-driven excellence through its complimentary live webinar, “We Don’t Need More Data: Building Intelligent Systems for Better Decisions,” facilitated by Carlo Carbonell, Deputy Lead of the PSQ Innovation & Digital Thinking Hub and Founder of Spreadsheet Magic. The webinar challenged organizations to move beyond simply collecting and reporting data toward building systems intentionally designed to enable better decisions and meaningful action.

Carbonell emphasized a decision-first approach, encouraging participants to establish direction and identify the decisions that matter before determining what data and dashboards are needed. He introduced the DECIDE Framework: Direction, Essential Decision, Critical Data, Interpret, Drive Action, and Evaluate, providing participants with a practical structure for transforming organizational data into actionable intelligence.

The session also explored the evolution from data collection and reporting to decision support and intelligent systems, highlighting that while dashboards can reveal signals, effective systems must translate those signals into action and feedback. Carbonell further discussed the growing role of artificial intelligence while underscoring the importance of analytical thinking, context, verification, and responsible human judgment in AI-enabled decision-making.

Through initiatives such as this webinar, PSQ reinforces its commitment to equipping quality professionals and organizational leaders with contemporary approaches to quality, innovation, digital transformation, and evidence-based decision-making.
