Panata sa Mararaot became a story of impact brought to life ✨
What started as a simple gathering through TGIF Night turned into something deeply meaningful for the Mararaot community in General Nakar, Quezon.
Because of your support, we were able to share:
28 plastic armchairs and 18 refurbished wooden chairs to support learning,
sports equipment including basketballs, volleyballs, chess boards, and swimming goggles to encourage play and growth,
and mushroom seedlings to help nurture a sustainable source of income for their community.
Beyond donations, we created spaces for learning and care.
We conducted a session on good touch and bad touch, equipping both children and parents with awareness on safe and unsafe physical contact, personal boundaries, and how to properly seek help and protection,
a mushroom gardening and sustainability workshop,
and a talk on the benefits of deworming followed by an actual deworming activity.
Before the project, only one student had been dewormed.
During the project, all attendees identified as wasted, severely wasted, and stunted completed the deworming, reaching 48 out of 200 students.
The school saw immediate results, and even parents who were not present expressed interest in having another session.
As part of our professional development service, Rotaractors were also trained by the community in preparing their local delicacies, Putangher and Binagkat na Dingalan, allowing cultural exchange and appreciation of local knowledge.
We also formalized our commitment through a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the school principal, ensuring continuous collaboration and sustained support for the school moving forward.
Sa bawat ambag, may kwento ng malasakit.
At sa bawat kwento, may pagbabago na nararamdaman.
This experience reminded us
that when communities come together with intention, impact becomes something you can truly see and feel ✨
