A look at whatโs ahead for tax administration and compliance! ๐กโ๐ป
On 13 August 2026, the ECCPโs inaugural ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ฑ ๐
๐จ๐ซ๐ฎ๐ฆ brought together tax experts, business leaders, and government officials for timely discussions on tax reforms, digitalisation, audit readiness, and emerging tax frameworks.
With the theme โFrom Preparation to Protection: Navigating Tax Compliance in a Changing Landscape,โ BIR Commissioner Charlito Martin โCharlieโ Mendoza delivered the keynote address, setting the tone for discussions on the BIRโs priorities for a more transparent, digital, and taxpayer-focused tax administration.
The forum also featured insights from officials of the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines (BIR), including Deputy Commissioner Atty. Marissa O. Cabreros; Mr. Glen Alde, Head of the BIRโs VAT on Digital Services Project; Deputy Commissioner Atty. Larry M. Barcelo; Assistant Commissioner Raquel Cristina V. Baltazar; and Assistant Commissioner Mariza R. Uy.
Industry perspectives were also shared by Mr. Senen Quizon, Business Tax Leader of Deloitte Philippines, who discussed Digitalization & Risk Management, and Mr. Anil Rajanala of Cygnet.One on e-invoicing readiness.
In another key session, Atty. Carlo Navarro of Deloitte Philippines discussed the Qualified Domestic Minimum Top-up Tax (QDMTT) and its implications for Philippine tax incentives.
ECCP Vice President Ruben Camba opened the forum by highlighting the importance of public-private collaboration in strengthening compliance, transparency, and the countryโs investment climate.
Panel and Q&A sessions moderated by Atty. Benedicta Du-Baladad, Co-chair of the ECCP Tax and Financial Services Committee, and Atty. Alden C. Labaguis, Vice Chair of the ECCP Tax and Financial Services and Customs and Logistics Committees, also explored practical approaches to managing tax risks in an increasingly digital and evolving regulatory environment.
