Action Against Hunger Philippines

Action Against Hunger Philippines For a world free from hunger. For almost 40 years, across nearly 50 countries, we have led the global fight against hunger. We push for long-term change.

We save the lives of children and work with their communities before and after the disaster strikes. We enable people to provide for themselves, see their children grow up strong, and build prosperous communities. We constantly search for more effective solutions, while sharing our knowledge and expertise with the world. We will never give up. Until the world is free from hunger.

Last month, students from the Zamboanga State College of Marine Sciences and Technology joined Action Against Hunger Philippines’s team and community for a mangrove planting and coastal cleanup activity in 📍Zamboanga City under the funded by EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid.

This collaboration with the academe and the youth goes beyond environmental action. Healthy ecosystems and stronger coastal protection are directly linked to food security, livelihoods, and disaster risk reduction — all of which are critical in the fight to end hunger.

The is co-implemented by CARE Philippines and ACCORD Incorporated in 📍Malabon City.

For years, Nirajon and her family lived without reliable water and a proper toilet, challenges that affect not just comfort but also health and dignity.

This is changing through a shared effort between Nirajon and her family, their community, and the guidance and technical support of Action Against Hunger Philippines and UNICEF Philippines, with funding from the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Together, they were able to build a resilient toilet with a rainwater system, bringing safer sanitation and reliable water closer to home.

Ending hunger starts with communities having the knowledge, resources, and ownership to create lasting solutions. 💙

At Maasin Elementary School in Pilar, Surigao del Norte 📍, children have long struggled with limited access to water, making it difficult to maintain proper hygiene.

Thanks to the Typhoon Odette Recovery and Rehabilitation Towards Climate-Resilient Programme, supported by UNICEF Philippines and funded by the Government of New Zealand through The New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the school now has fully functioning handwashing facilities and a solar water pump, giving students a stable and reliable water supply.

Clean water is now within reach, helping children stay healthy and build empowered futures.
