In the year 2010, Philippine Bus Photographers Association (PBPA) was started with the goal of being an Internet hangout for people who share a passion in bus enthusiasm and photography. The group was no more than a few people swapping bus-related stories and sharing precious bus photos. Now, in 10 years of existing, PBPA has grown beyond what it originally was. Our numbers grew, and so did our purpose. While bus photography has always been the staple of our group, we have expanded into new horizons over the years. We have established rapport among some of the industry's small players and big names alike; reached out to the wider commuting community through our updates; shared our knowledge through various means, including the short-lived Know Your Bus; and supported the industry's programs as much as we can. For today and beyond, you can expect us to do our best and bring something new for you. The official return of Celyrosa to the upland line!

After nearly a decade, Celyrosa Express is officially back on the upland line, bringing another option to passengers traveling to and from the Greater Tagaytay Area.

Adding to the comeback is this unique Higer KLQ6119GAE3 unit which features a low-entry configuration combined with a 2x2 seating layout. This is a notable unit to see serving the revived Mendez route.

From Southern Lake to Western Coast

Introducing the newest and the last route under the collaboration of HM Transport, Inc. and Victory Liner, Inc.: Calamba, Laguna to Iba, Zambales via Olongapo City!

This new route connects the southern part of Laguna to the western coast of Zambales, providing passengers with a more convenient travel options to and from the said provinces. This additional route is also part of both companies’ goal to provide a seamless connection for passengers traveling across South Luzon, Central Luzon, and North Luzon.

Through this new route, passengers from South Luzon can now reach Zambales without having to travel all the way to Metro Manila just to catch a bus bound for the said province.

Let's take the memory lane and remember that ambitious partnership maybe around a year ago between SM Malls (via Park Solutions Inc.) and DLTBCo? The plan was to create dedicated routes connecting different SM Malls. Tapos biglang naging tahimik. A lot of people thought the project was completely mothballed.

But recently, the enthusiast's buzz have been connecting some very interesting dots—and their guesses are starting to make a lot of sense.

Less than a week ago, the LTFRB opened applications for a somewhat odd set of Premium Point-to-Point (P2P) routes. The origin is Fairview, with routes going directly to Tuguegarao, La Union, Urdaneta and Dasmariñas.

Ang catch? Every single one of these destinations hosts a major SM Supermall. Coincidence ba talaga na saktong-sakto ang mga endpoints?

Yes, the LTFRB legally opened these routes to everyone. Standard procedure 'yan to avoid monopolies. Pero realistically—when highly specific routes like these suddenly open up out of nowhere, it often means an operator submitted their unsolicited proposal and already did the groundwork and is just waiting to drop their ready-made application.

While visual mock-ups like the one in posted image just give us a cool "what if" look at a northern-bound DLTB unit, the regulatory timing is what really fuels this rumor.

The theory going around is that the SM-DLTBCo partnership never actually died; they were just quietly navigating government slow and tedious processes. By leveraging SM’s massive properties for premium terminal space, DLTBCo looks like it's quietly gearing up to launch an unprecedented "Mall-to-Mall" network.

What do you guys think—if DLTBCo actually pushes through with this SM P2P service up North, paano kaya mag-re-react ang mga established heavyweights like Victory Liner or Partas sa ganitong premium competition?

Yanson Fleet via Bicol Region?

Terminal tarpaulins and circulating online posts are currently fueling a massive rumor in the transport community: Ceres (Yanson Group of Bus Companies) is allegedly preparing to launch a direct bus route from Manila all the way to Bohol. This development is a major news for enthusiasts and commuters because it marks a historic territorial shift. For the first time, the Yanson Group is establishing a footprint in the Bicol Region, bringing their fleet into the southern Luzon corridor.

​Based on the teasers, this journey will traverse the entire stretch of the Maharlika Highway (AH26). The route alignment starts in Manila and heads down to Naga before hitting the primary RoRo crossing at Matnog Port. From there, the bus will roll through the Samar coastline, pass Tacloban in Leyte, and make one final sea crossing into the island province of Bohol.

​While an expanded land transport network is always exciting, a trip of this magnitude raises serious logistical reservations. Sobrang laking challenge yung notorious queueing bottleneck at Matnog Port. It will be interesting to see how an operator heavily focused on VisMin routes handles the frequent and severe delays of this primary Luzon-Visayas gateway.

​Passenger comfort and driver fatigue will also be critical issues on this estimated 36 to 48-hour trip. Kung hindi maglalabas ang Ceres ng premium units or luxury configurations, enduring this run on standard seating will be absolutely grueling.

​With budget airlines regularly offering competitive direct flights to Bohol, kailangan maging aggressively priced itong ruta to survive. Tingin niyo ba Ceres will successfully integrate into the Bicol corridor, or will this experimental long-haul face severe growing pains? Let’s hear your thoughts sa comments below!

Gaya ng ibang bus operator sa Pilipinas, hindi rin nagpahuli ang Pamar sa pagkuha ng mga imported China buses! As of now, nag-iisa pa lang yata ito sa fleet nila dahil maaaring sinusubukan pa lang nila ang performance at reliability nito kumpara sa iba nilang King Long buses.

This gets even better dahil sinundan nila ito agad ng iba pang units. Yung mga kasunod na fleet numbers nito (323-KL-48 to 50) ay puro mga brand-new King Long XMQ6127AYW na kalalabas lang din recently! Patunay lamang ito ng loyalty at tiwala ng Pamar sa King Long dahil swak na swak ito sa kanilang mga ruta sa Bicol region.

Isa ito sa mga bus na madalas mong makikita kapag nasa Subic ka, at madali mo itong mare-recognize dahil sa kakaibang hulma ng bubong nito na derived sa hugis ng bubong ng mga tram sa ibang bansa. Ang may-ari nga pala ng mga bus na ito ay ang Royal Duty Free, isa sa mga kilalang retailer sa Subic, at ginagamit nila ito bilang shuttle bus na umiikot sa mga pangunahing kalsada sa SBFZ.

Kung tutuusin, sobrang tagal na rin ng mga bus na ito; ilang henerasyon na rin ang pinagdaanan ng mga unit nila na ito pero nananatili pa ring maganda at mukha pa ring bago—palatandaan lamang na inaalagaan itong mabuti ng Royal Duty Free. May mga dinagdag na rin silang mga unit sa kanilang fleet few years ago at nakakatuwang isipin na sinunod pa rin nila yung ganitong design na tram-like roofing dahil dito na rin sila nakilala ever since.

Sana ay dumami pa yung mga ganitong units nila dahil nakakatuwang makakita ng mga bus na may kakaibang design language!

Roller with Road Runner via Arya Abra

RoRo Bus Transport remains the most popular option on the PITX to San Jose, Occidental Mindoro route. It offers passengers a direct, efficient connection through the country's largest landport in Parañaque.

Meanwhile, Partas Transportation, a leading operator in Northern Luzon, also serves this long-distance route. Operating from its primary Metro Manila hub in Pasay City, Partas provides a key alternative terminal location for travelers heading to San Jose.

Good news, southies! Bumibyahe na ang mga bagong units ng Quezon Solid South made by THACO! They currently have 6 brand-new THACO Cruizer 120-51 units which serve the Cubao, Quezon City - Naga, Camarines Sur route.

Mukhang promising itong mga bagong units ng QSSTI, knowing na maganda ang performance ng THACO at kayang-kaya nitong makipagsabayan sa iba pang mga brands. Sana ay madagdagan pa ito in the future!
