Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation

Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation The Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation is a non-profit in the Philippines that helps children in remote and impoverished areas access education.

It began in 2010 when friends discovered kids in a Zamboanga coastal community had to swim to school. Moved by their struggles, they provided a yellow boat to ensure safer school travel. The foundation has since expanded, providing boats to various coastal and isolated communities across the country. These yellow boats symbolize hope and a brighter future for children. Beyond boats, the foundation

supports education through providing classrooms, dormitories, school equipment, and scholarships for deserving students. These efforts have improved the lives of thousands of children and their families, offering hope and educational opportunities.

We are pleased to share that 1179 Hope Boxes, each filled with essential school supplies generously donated by SGV Foundation, have been distributed to enthusiastic young learners at AHA Learning Centerโ€™s Sunrise and Better World Smokey Mountain Centers.

Pencils, notebooks, and learning kits spark creativity, strengthen confidence, and provide children with practical tools to pursue education as a pathway out of poverty. Without these basic resources, their dreams can remain distant. With them, those aspirations can begin to take flight.

We extend our deepest gratitude to SGV Foundation for your steadfast support of tomorrowโ€™s leaders. Your generous contribution is transforming young lives, expanding opportunities, and helping create brighter futures. Together, we nurture enduring hope.

We are especially grateful to AHA Learning Center for carefully handling and distributing the Hope Boxes. Together, we amplify our impact, align our efforts, and strengthen trust with the communities we serve. Thank you for standing with us as partners in learning and hope. ! โ›ต

Change can be uncomfortable, but it is also a reminder that growth is still possible. Often, the people that grow are the ones who remain open to learning, willing to adjust, and brave enough to try a new way when the old one no longer works.

This year's global theme, "Honouring Indigenous Midwives: Safeguarding Life and Well-being," reminds us that Indigenous knowledge systems are not just traditionsโ€”they are living, breathing solutions rooted in care, culture, and connection to land.

In many remote Indigenous communities, barriers to education and health remain deeply entrenchedโ€”from geographic isolation and poverty to language gaps and limited resources. Yet, Indigenous families continue to nurture hope, pass down wisdom, and dream boldly for their children's futures.

To the Indigenous midwives, teachers, elders, and youth: because of you! You are the heartbeat of our shared future. โ›ต

We are thrilled to share that the three newly refurbished desktop computers donated to Doรฑa Luisa Obieta Integrated School in Iba, Zambales, by our generous partners at RippleEd, through their corporate sponsor, Banner Plasticard, are now helping students with their schoolwork.

Each desktop computer, complete with a monitor, keyboard, mouse, CPU, and AVR, reminds us that technology, when placed in the hands of learners, can open doors to discovery, build confidence, and create brighter possibilities.

For remote schools, especially those serving a large Indigenous Aeta population, access to computers is a vital step toward bridging the digital divide and ensuring that every child has a fair chance to learn, grow, and thrive.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to RippleEd and Banner Plasticard for this meaningful contribution and for engaging so warmly with the students. Together, we continue building pathways of hope, one learning tool at a time. because of you! โ›ต

This milestone marks the 66th Educational Hub delivered since the programโ€™s inception, reaffirming our steadfast commitment to helping bridge the digital divide in remote and underserved communities.

Last week, we were honored to welcome EDCOM 2 - The Second Congressional Commission on Education to our adopted school, Claret Samal Foundation, Inc. (CSFI) Yellow School of Hope, located in Sitio Teheman, Maluso, Basilan. Executive Director Karol Mark Yee and our team had the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with the school administrators, teachers, and students to gain a deeper understanding of the challenges they face and the specific needs of indigenous schools such as CSFI Yellow School of Hope.

During the visit to our adopted school on stilts, we shared how the Yellow Boat of Hope Foundation, together with its partners, has continued to support the community through yellow school boats that provide transportation and livelihood opportunities, school supplies, learning equipment, and the Hapag-Asa Feeding Program.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Claret Samal Foundation, Inc. and all our valued stakeholders for their continued support of our adopted school. Your commitment, generosity, and collaboration help strengthen our shared mission of creating better opportunities for Sama Bajau learners and their communities.

We also thank EDCOM 2 for taking the time to visit the community and witness the situation on the ground. We hope this meaningful engagement will contribute to stronger partnerships and help advance practical, lasting solutions to the challenges faced by children, schools, and communities in underserved areas.

We are grateful for this important dialogue and remain hopeful that continued collaboration among communities, civil society organizations, and the government will help ensure that every child, especially those from underserved and indigenous communities, has access to quality education, meaningful opportunities, and a brighter future. ! โ›ต
