Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Chartered in 1971, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs (ZCME) has been one of the most pro-active women's groups in the Philippines.

Composed of executives and professionals, the club aims to empower women worldwide through service and advocacy Chartered on APRL 26, 1971 and now celebrating 50 years, the Zonta Club of Makati and Environs (ZCME) has, through the decades been one of the most pro-active womenโ€™s groups in the Philippines. ics, researchers, funders, practitioners, and business people committed to gender equality. A Part of the global organization, Zonta International, the club seeks to uplift and improve the lives of women by promoting and working for the advancement of their legal, political, economic, educational, health, and professional status through service and advocacy. ZCME envisions a world where womenโ€™s rights can flourish, where resources and power are shares in way that will enable present and future generations to thrive and realize their full potential with dignity. We aim for a global society where women are represented in decision-making positions on an equal basis with men. ZCME envisions a world where no woman (and child) lives in fear of violence. During the meeting, the Golden Z Club of UMak formally expressed its support for the advocacies of CGAD, including the proposed ๐—ฎ๐—ฏ๐—ผ๐—น๐—ถ๐˜€๐—ต๐—บ๐—ฒ๐—ป๐˜ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐˜๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฟ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐—พ๐˜‚๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ณ๐—ผ๐—ฟ ๐—–๐—ฟ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜€-๐——๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ป๐—ด, an initiative that promotes inclusivity and respect for gender expression within the university. The organization also committed to serving as an extension and student partner of CGAD by supporting and promoting future gender and development programs, campaigns, and advocacy initiatives.

The coordination meeting also served as an initial benchmarking and planning session, allowing both parties to identify opportunities for collaboration and establish a stronger partnership for the upcoming academic year. Through open dialogue and the exchange of ideas, the meeting laid the groundwork for future projects that aim to strengthen student engagement in gender and development initiatives.

Overall, the meeting marked the beginning of a meaningful partnership between the Golden Z Club of UMak and the Center for Gender and Development. Through shared commitment and collaboration, both organizations look forward to implementing programs that uphold equality, inclusivity, and respect while empowering the university community through education, advocacy, and service.

The Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation, Inc. (ZCME) convened its 2nd General Membership Meeting on July 28, 2026, at Milky Way Cafรฉ, Makati City, reaffirming the Club's commitment to advancing the welfare of women and girls through service, advocacy, education, and strategic partnerships.

The meeting opened with the presentation of the ๐ƒ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐ญ ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ• ๐†๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐จ๐ซ'๐ฌ ๐’๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ง๐-๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ ๐€๐ฐ๐š๐ซ๐๐ฌ, ๐ซ๐ž๐œ๐จ๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ณ๐ข๐ง๐  ๐ญ๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐ฎ๐›'๐ฌ ๐จ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ง๐๐ข๐ง๐  ๐š๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐ข๐ง ๐ฌ๐ž๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐œ๐ž, ๐š๐๐ฏ๐จ๐œ๐š๐œ๐ฒ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ.These accolades highlighted the collective efforts of ZCME members, committee leaders, partner organizations, and volunteers in implementing impactful community programs.

The Club likewise reaffirmed its unwavering support for Marillac through volunteerism, fundraising, and educational enrichment initiatives.

The initiative aims to equip beneficiaries with employable skills and create sustainable livelihood opportunities.

EWSP Scholars Workshop Empowers Future Women Leaders Through Skills, Innovation, and Career Readiness

The Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation, Inc. (ZCME) successfully conducted the EWSP Scholars Workshop on July 25, 2026 at the Inspira CyberFusion Center, 18th Floor, The Finance Centre, Taguig City, bringing together scholars under the Empowering Women Scholarship Program (EWSP) for a day of learning, mentorship, and personal development.

Guided by the theme Empowering Dreams. Building Futures., the workshop was designed to equip EWSP scholars with practical knowledge, career readiness skills, and the confidence to thrive in both their academic and professional journeys.

The event featured an outstanding lineup of resource speakers who generously shared their expertise and inspired the scholars through engaging discussions:

1. Ms. Joy Ong delivered an insightful session on AI Adoption, introducing scholars to the transformative role of Artificial Intelligence in education, the workplace, and everyday life. She encouraged participants to embrace emerging technologies and continuously develop digital competencies to remain future-ready.

2. Mr. Ivan Santamaria conducted the Employer Talk, providing valuable perspectives on what employers look for in today's workforce. He discussed industry expectations, workplace professionalism, and the qualities that make young professionals stand out in an increasingly competitive job market.

3. Ms. Katrina Bacud*led the HR Talk, sharing practical advice on recruitment, interview preparation, resume presentation, and professional behavior. Her session equipped the scholars with essential insights to help them confidently navigate their future careers.

4. Ms. Marcy C. Kohchet-Chua facilitated the session on Financial Literacy, emphasizing the importance of responsible financial management, budgeting, saving, investing, and building a secure financial future. She encouraged the scholars to develop healthy financial habits early in life.

The Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation extends its sincere gratitude to Inspira Tech Phil Corp for generously sponsoring the workshop venue through the invaluable support and coordination of EWSP Co-Chair Ms. Raya Santos. Their partnership reflects a shared commitment to empowering young women through education, leadership development, and meaningful opportunities for growth.

The workshop was also honored by the presence of Ms. Vicky Wieneke, Founder of the Empowering Women Scholarship Program (EWSP), whose vision and unwavering dedication have transformed the lives of countless young women through education and mentorship. Also present was Ms. Suyin Liu, Co-Chair of the EWSP Committee, whose continued leadership and commitment have been instrumental in strengthening the scholarship program and ensuring meaningful learning experiences for every scholar.

The EWSP Scholars Workshop is one of the many initiatives of the Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation that demonstrates its unwavering commitment to building a better world for women and girls by investing in education, leadership, financial empowerment, and career readiness.

Through the collective efforts of dedicated volunteers, inspiring speakers, committed partners, and generous supporters, the workshop served as a powerful reminder that when women are empowered with knowledge and opportunity, they become catalysts for positive change in their families, communities, and the nation.

A Productive Collaboration Meeting with TESDA, Marillac Center, and Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation, Inc. (ZCME)

A highly productive collaboration meeting was held between the officers of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Main Office, TESDA MuntiParLasTaPat Office, Marillac Center, and the Zonta Club of Makati & Environs Foundation, Inc. (ZCME) to discuss a long-term partnership that will provide life-changing opportunities for the girls of Marillac Center.

TESDA has generously committed to implementing the Special Training for Employment Program (STEP) through mobile training at Marillac Center. The initial courses to be offered are:

* Cookery NC II
* Bread and Pastry Production NC II

Under this program, the trainees will receive:

* Free skills training
* Free competency assessment
* Training allowance
* Starter tool kits upon successful completion of the training, passing the competency assessment, and meeting all program requirements.

TESDA also expressed its commitment to explore the implementation of Housekeeping NC II as an additional training program in the future.

To ensure the sustainability of this partnership, a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) will be prepared to formalize a five-year collaboration between TESDA, Marillac Center, and ZCME, creating more opportunities for education, employment, and economic empowerment for the girls under the care of Marillac Center.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our dear Ms. Armita "Mita" Rufino for making this collaboration possible by connecting us with TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez. We deeply appreciate Director General Benitez and the TESDA team for giving their time, attention, and support to our request.

We are committed to working closely with our partners to ensure that this collaboration is successfully implemented and sustained. Together, we look forward to creating meaningful opportunities that will empower the girls of Marillac Center, equip them with valuable livelihood skills, and help them build brighter, more independent futures.
