𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻 𝗕𝗼𝘀𝗰𝗼 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴🌎🏦📖

Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines (DB1TVET), together with Don Bosco Technical Institute of Makati, welcomed representatives of the World Bank for a learning visit on September 9, 2026, led by Mr. Christian Bodewig, Global Director for Education and Skills at the World Bank.

The visit formed part of the World Bank’s engagement with the Philippine Government on education and skills development and provided the delegation with a closer look at how technical and vocational education and training is delivered in practice.

During the visit, the delegation observed ongoing training activities and engaged with trainers and learners to gain practical insights into the learning environment, instructor-trainee interaction, and Don Bosco’s approach to developing industry-relevant skills.

The learning exchange also highlighted the importance of strengthening connections between training institutions and industry to ensure that skills development remains responsive to evolving workforce needs.

The 𝗞𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗮–𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺 (𝗩𝗧𝗧) 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 & 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 has officially commenced in Gwangju, South Korea, bringing together technical-vocational trainers from the Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines (DB1TVET) Network for an intensive international learning and skills development experience.

The project is being implemented through a partnership among the Rotary Foundation, Rotary Club of San Francisco del Monte, Rotary Club of Geoje Geosong (RI District 3590), and Honam Vocational Training College, with 10 automotive trainers from the DB1TVET Network participating in the program.

During the first three days of training, participants engaged in hands-on automotive maintenance activities, including ISC valve replacement, front shock absorber removal and installation, caster and camber inspection, and gasoline engine head and valve spring replacement. These practical sessions provide the trainers with valuable exposure to industry-based techniques, diagnostic procedures, and automotive maintenance practices that can further strengthen the quality and relevance of technical-vocational training across the DB1TVET Network.

The training program will conclude on September 23, 2026, with a graduation ceremony to be held in South Korea, marking the completion of this international capacity-building initiative and the trainers’ continued commitment to advancing automotive technical education and skills development.

Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines (DB1TVET) is gearing up for the Korea–Philippines Vocational Training Team (VTT) Project in Automotive Maintenance & Industrial Technology, scheduled from September 1–23, 2026, in Gwangju, South Korea.

As part of the preparations, DB1TVET held a meeting with representatives of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Del Monte to align on the upcoming training and ensure that the participating trainers are fully prepared for this valuable international learning opportunity. Ten (10) qualified automotive trainers from the DB1TVET Network will take part in the program.

The project is implemented under The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International, in partnership with the Rotary Club of San Francisco Del Monte, Rotary Club of Geoje Geosong, RI District 3590, and Honam Vocational Training College, Republic of Korea. It aims to share South Korea’s advanced vocational training systems and hands-on educational models with the Philippines, strengthening technical education and building a sustainable foundation for skills development. More than a training program, the VTT Project represents a meaningful exchange of skills, knowledge, and best practices—empowering Philippine trainers to bring valuable global insights back to their learners and the wider TVET community.

The preparatory meeting was graced by Fr. Dindo Vitug, SDB, Executive Director of Don Bosco-One TVET Philippines, together with Atty. Rufino Policarpio III, Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator; Atty. Red dela Torre, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Del Monte; Dr. Pierangelo Dominguez, VTTP Team Leader; and Ms. Joan Policarpio, Past President of the Rotary Club of San Francisco Del Monte.
