UMak Freshmen Orientation 2026 | Day 3

Welcome to the University of Makati, our newest Herons! 💙❤️ The UMak Siglahi Folk Dance Company was honored to bring the energy and charm of the Philippine countryside to the stage during Freshmen Orientation Day 3 at the UMak Performing Arts Theater. We proudly performed Pandanggo sa Ilaw, Balamban, and Tinikling, showcasing the beauty, creativity, and vibrant traditions of Filipino rural life.

We hope our performances gave you a glimpse of the rich culture and traditions we continue to preserve through dance. Once again, welcome to the Heron family! May your time at UMak be filled with meaningful experiences, new friendships, and memories that will last a lifetime. See you around campus! 🫶

The UMak Siglahi Folk Dance Company proudly welcomed the newest Herons through the grace and elegance of Philippine folk dances during the Freshmen Orientation Day 2 at the UMak Performing Arts Theater. We showcased Lanceros de Negros, Paseo de Iloilo, and Jota Quirino, dances that highlight the beauty of Filipino traditions and the cultural influences that shaped our heritage.

Through every movement, we continue to preserve and share the stories of our ancestors, celebrating the richness of Filipino culture through dance. 🇵🇭❤️

The 𝗨𝗠𝗮𝗸 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗹𝗮𝗵𝗶 𝗙𝗼𝗹𝗸 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 was honored to perform at the 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗮 𝗗𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿 held on 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, at the 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗯𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺, 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗿𝗮𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗹𝗮, in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitral Award.

Through the powerful stories of our folk dances Pandanggo sa Bulig, Inalimango, and Pasiguin, we paid tribute to the resilience, courage, and livelihood of our Filipino fishermen whose lives are deeply connected to our seas. Our performance was made even more meaningful with the song "Teritoryo Namin 'To," expressing our love for our country and our commitment to protecting the West Philippine Sea.

Culture is more than a performance—it is our identity, our history, and our voice. 🇵🇭
