"Operation Jabez : Beyond Borders"
MISSION: DAY 2
β
MORNING DEVOTION: We started the day with personal quiet time then proceeded with our group "share & pray" time. We want to capture all the praise items and prayer concerns from everything that transpired during our first day. This was our moment of mutual encouragement & praise reporting. The Lord had really gone ahead of us preparing the community. Even the younger ones whom we thought would just observe us, had actively participated during our house-to-house evangelism. Their stories are really encouraging- such remarkable faith & boldness in presenting the Gospel to all ages.
β
READ TO GROW: Our second day of Jesus Festival gathered 12 students whom are all Day 1 attendees. Notably, Jeremie who is a 19 year old PWD still joined the class. Due to his special condition, he begged off early in his studies leaving him the challenge to read & write properly. It was thru God's divine appointment that while he and her mother, Ate Merlyn were walking in the street, one of our delegates struck a conversation with them and upon knowing his condition, invited him to join our RTG regularly. They are not from Sitio Lower Kilingan. They live few kiometers away from the community.
The kids really enjoyed their interactive learning time that focused solely on the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.
β
FOLLOW-UP TRAINING: After our One Verse Evangelism training, our delegates who are not responsible for RTG gathered for the training on how to conduct follow up session. This is to capture those community folks who expressed their desire to know Jesus more. The follow up session includes reinforcement of the Gospel via biblical narrative about the sinful woman who received forgiveness from the Lord during the time when He was invited to dine with the Pharisees (Luke 7:36-50).
β
HOUSE-TO-HOUSE EVANGELISM & FOLLOW UP SESSION: For the first timers during this day, they shared the Gospel to the community folks, while others conducted follow up sessions. The community terrain is quite challenging, some crossed the river/stream while others trekked uphill to reach the remote houses. They also carried with them an invitation for the youth to join our fellowship night.
β
FELLOWSHIP NIGHT & SERVE A MEAL: Our second evening should be for TANIKALA film showing, however to respect the tradition of PABASA for the parents which was held in the chapel beside the covered court, we decided to create an interaction for the youth instead, since many among us also witnessed to them. It was light & fun-filled with reinforcement of the Gospel and a challenge for the community youths to follow Jesus. We asked our youth disciples to facilitate the program so they can build relationship with them. After the program, we served spaghetti, bbq and sandwich with ham spread.
In between these activities are our prayer groups bathing the whole day program in prayer. In the end, our greatest reliance for victory is still the LORD!β
1 Corinthians 2:4-5 AMP
"And my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom [using clever rhetoric], but [they were delivered] in demonstration of the [Holy] Spirit [operating through me] and of [His] power [stirring the minds of the listeners and persuading them], so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom and rhetoric of men, but on the power of God."
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!π"
