Today, September 8, the Church celebrates the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

Mary’s birth marks a turning point in salvation history. In her, God’s plan of salvation draws closer to its fulfillment, preparing the way for the coming of Christ. Through Mary’s humble “yes,” the Word would take flesh and dwell among us.

As we celebrate her birth, may we also ask for the grace to imitate Mary’s openness to God—to listen, to trust, and to courageously say yes to the mission God entrusts to us.

Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

May Mary, Mother of Jesus and our Mother, lead us ever closer to her Son.

Today's homily reminds us that rules exist to serve humanity, not the other way around. ⚖️🍃

Choosing to be considerate allows us to recognize that human dignity and welfare are the highest law. As future physicians, we must remind ourselves that when rigid policies stand between a patient and their healing, compassion must take the lead.

Change is your instrument of growth that brings us to a deeper relationship with you.
May your Word be the lantern that guides the roads of change in our lives.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

As you stand at the threshold of a new chapter, today’s Reading from Paul's Letter to the Romans reminds us that our lives are an offering. The years of study, sacrifice, and formation have brought you to this moment, but the journey does not end here.

As you step forward as doctors, may you continue to offer yourselves in service, allowing your minds and hearts to be renewed as you discern where God is calling you next. May you carry the same spirit of courage and sacrifice reflected in today’s Baccalaureate Mass into every patient, and every life you will touch.

Happy Feast of St. Bartholomew! 💙

In the middle of the hecticness of med school, it can be easy to get caught up in our routines and simply go through the motions. Today’s homily reminds us to slow down, be attentive, and give ourselves wholeheartedly to the people and moments God places before us.

May St. Bartholomew inspire us to remain present, even on the busiest days, and to continue finding God in all things and purpose in all that we do. 🙏🏻
