Approximately 1 in 12 people globally face hunger daily. 2.3 billion people, or 28% of the global population, lack regular access to safe, nutritious, and sufficient food.

This World Hunger Day, we emphasize that food is a fundamental right and that true food security is impossible without solidarity and inclusion.

AWO International remains committed to advocating for initiatives that guarantee sufficient and nutritious food for every person, everywhere.

The 2nd Learning Exchange and Collaboration Workshop on Safe Migration Arrives in East Java! 👏🏼🤩

We recently wrapped up the Learning Exchange and Collaboration Workshop between Government and Social Structure Actors in East Java, bringing together provincial and district authorities, village leaders, migrant groups, and our partner organisations Migrant Care and INFEST Yogyakarta.

In partnership with the GIZ-Centres for Migration and Development (ZME) Indonesia, this milestone activity reinforced a shared mission: strengthening safe migration pathways, preventing human trafficking, and supporting returning migrant workers and their families.

During interactive World Café sessions, stakeholders from the regencies of Banyuwangi, Jember, Ponorogo, and Blitar mapped out concrete action plans. From paralegal and case management trainings to cross-sector migration governance dialogues, these joint initiatives will roll out in the coming months to ensure migration remains safe, orderly, and dignified. ✨

Thank you to everyone who brought their insights and commitment to this collaboration. 👏🏼
