𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭

📍5th Stop: Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish - TALA

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑, together with 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (𝐂𝐑𝐀), conducted their 5th visit to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish in Tala, Caloocan City. The visit aimed to learn about the journey of establishing the 𝙋𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙑𝙪𝙡𝙣𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘼𝙙𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙨 (𝙋𝘾𝘾𝙑𝘼) within the parish, as well as to understand how its programs and services contribute to child protection and welfare.

The activity also provided participants with the opportunity to witness and hear firsthand the experiences of parish volunteers and beneficiaries of the ministry. Through these shared stories, participants gained a deeper appreciation of the impact of faith-based initiatives in safeguarding children and supporting vulnerable individuals. The visit further highlighted the importance of community involvement, compassion, and sustained commitment in promoting safe and nurturing environments.

📍4th Stop: 𝐊𝐧𝐊 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 - 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐁𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑 together with 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐂𝐑𝐀) conducted their 4th visit to KnK Philippines – Children Without Borders in Caloocan City. The visit aimed to provide participants with a deeper understanding of KNK Philippines’ programs and services for vulnerable children and youth. It also sought to highlight how these initiatives contribute to child protection, welfare, and empowerment.

In addition, the activity allowed participants to explore possible areas of collaboration between KNK Philippines and parish-based volunteers in supporting Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL). Through the engagement, participants gained valuable insights into the organization’s holistic approach to care and its commitment to creating safe, supportive, and transformative environments for children and young people.

📍3rd Stop: Kariton Empowerment Center (𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙩 4 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙀𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢)

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑 together with 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐂𝐑𝐀) held their 3rd visit at Kariton Empowerment Center to learn and have a lunch at Knot 4 Gains Eatery and Ice Cream. The activity aimed to further strengthen engagement with the community, deepen understanding of grassroots initiatives, and build meaningful connections with the children and families being served.

𝙆𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙤𝙣 𝙀𝙢𝙥𝙤𝙬𝙚𝙧𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝘾𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙄𝙣𝙘. is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and empowerment of street families. It supports them in organizing into self-help groups and enables them to respond more creatively and responsibly to their situations through programs in education, values formation, and skills training. The organization also implements livelihood initiatives, provides support services, strengthens networks, and actively promotes advocacy for marginalized communities.

Through the visit, participants gained a deeper appreciation of how community-based programs can create sustainable change and empower families toward self-reliance. As part of the experience, the group shared a simple yet meaningful lunch at 𝙆𝙣𝙤𝙩 4 𝙂𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙨 𝙀𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙄𝙘𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢, fostering interaction, reflection, and stronger relationships. The visit reinforced the importance of compassion, collaboration, and continued engagement in advancing child rights and development.

𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: 𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭

📍2nd Stop: House of Refuge Foundation Inc - HORFI

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑 together with 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 (𝐂𝐑𝐀) learning and exposure visit was conducted at the House of Refuge Foundation Inc. in Project 8, Quezon City. The visit provided volunteers with the opportunity to gain knowledge about the foundation’s programs and services, understand its admission process, and learn about the situations of children admitted to the facility. It also offered insights into the interventions provided by the foundation and how these contribute to child protection and development.

Beyond acquiring knowledge, the visit allowed volunteers to engage more deeply with the realities faced by vulnerable children, fostering empathy and a stronger sense of responsibility as Child Rights Advocates. The experience also encouraged volunteers to reflect on how they can actively support and promote child rights within their own communities.

𝘾𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙎𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚 - HORFI is guided by its commitment to nurture children in the Christian faith while helping them discover their talents and sense of purpose. It aims to build their self-worth, foster healthy relationships, and empower them to make meaningful and responsible life choices.
𝙎𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙀𝙭𝙘𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 - HORFI is recognized as one of the leading non-government organizations providing quality care to children. It is a highly regarded partner of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) and has achieved Level 3 accreditation—an honor granted to only a select number of child-caring institutions in the NCR.

📍1st Stop: Asilo de San Vicente de Paul

On 𝐀𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐥 𝟏𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, 𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑, together with 𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐌 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐥𝐭 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (𝐂𝐑𝐀), conducted a learning and exposure visit to Asilo de San Vicente de Paul. The visit aimed to deepen participants’ understanding of the foundation’s programs and services, including its admission process, criteria, and documentary requirements. It also provided valuable insights into how the agency’s initiatives contribute to child protection and holistic child development.

Beyond learning about systems and procedures, the visit offered participants a meaningful opportunity to witness firsthand the nurturing environment provided to children under care. It strengthened their appreciation of the crucial role that institutions and advocates play in safeguarding children’s rights, promoting their well-being, and ensuring they grow in a safe and supportive community.

𝘼𝙨𝙞𝙡𝙤 𝙙𝙚 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝙑𝙞𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚 𝙙𝙚 𝙋𝙖𝙪𝙡 is recognized as the first orphanage for girls in the Philippines. It is founded in 1885 𝙗𝙮 𝙎𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝘼𝙨𝙪𝙣𝙘𝙞ó𝙣 𝙑𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙖, 𝘿𝘾 who generously donated her inheritance and land to the 𝘿𝙖𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝘾𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙞𝙩𝙮. Its long history reflects a continuing commitment to compassion, service, and the protection of vulnerable children.

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 29, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the parish youth and adult leaders and volunteers from the 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐝𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 (𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐮 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨), held its 7𝐭𝐡 𝐁𝐑𝐏 𝐒𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧.

The BRP sessions were held at San Roque de Manila Parish, Santa Cruz, Manila.

𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐲𝐨 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐬 𝐆𝐮𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟑𝟏, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, SPCC-NCR was invited to guest on the radio program Kalakbay ng Pamilya on DZRV 846. The guesting was attended by Ms. Janalyn F. Palomique, RSW, MMPA (Program Director), Ms. Mary Ann Bernardo, RSW (Direct Service Coordinator), and Ms. Kathrine Alejo, RSW (Advocacy and Formation Coordinator).

Through this opportunity, SPCC-NCR was able to introduce its core advocacy, programs, and services to a wider audience. The discussion highlighted the organization’s commitment to promoting and protecting children’s rights, as well as providing support services for children and families in vulnerable situations. The radio guesting also served as a platform to raise public awareness, encourage community participation, and strengthen partnerships with listeners, institutions, and other organizations.

𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧'𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟖, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, SPCC-NCR conducted a Community Care and Legal Assistance Drive aimed at providing a safe, welcoming, and compassionate space for individuals and families in the community. The initiative sought to offer guidance, support, and legal assistance to those facing concerns that affect their well-being.

The drive featured free consultations and basic legal services delivered by volunteer lawyers and trained staff, all committed to upholding justice, dignity, and pastoral care.

𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐌-𝐀𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the RCAM-Advocacy Team convened for a preparation meeting at the Our Lady of Sorrows Outreach Foundation Inc. in Pasay City. During the session, the team discussed and finalized key plans, strategies, and logistical preparations for the upcoming Women’s Month Advocacy event to be held at Brgy. 101, Bldg. 1 Covered Court, Vitas Katuparan, Tondo, Manila. The meeting attended by 10 Advocacy Team Members, 3 OLSOFI Interns, and 2 SPCC-NCR Staff.

The meeting also served as a platform to align roles and responsibilities among team members, ensuring a coordinated and impactful implementation of activities. In addition to program flow and resource allocation, the team explored meaningful engagement strategies for the “Community Care and Legal Assistance Drive Advocacy,” including the provision of free legal consultations.

On 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟑, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐝𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐥𝐚 – 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐑𝐂𝐀𝐌-𝐎𝐒𝐌) and 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐧 – 𝐍𝐂𝐑 (𝐒𝐏𝐂𝐂-𝐍𝐂𝐑) held a coordination meeting.

The RCAM-OSM invited SPCC-NCR to provide a brief program orientation on its role within RCAM. During the meeting, SPCC-NCR presented its key initiatives, particularly its work in supporting the establishment and implementation of Child Protection Policies in RCAM parishes. The organization also highlighted its ongoing efforts in capacity-building, awareness-raising, and providing assistance to ensure safe environments for children. In turn, RCAM-OSM shared its core functions, which include guiding RCAM’s long-term direction, strategic planning, and the coordination of major pastoral and administrative initiatives.

The meeting was attended by three SPCC-NCR staff members: Ms. Janalyn Palomiquw, RSW, MMPA (Program Director); Ms. Mary Ann Bernardo, RSW (Direct Service Coordinator); and Sr. Anita Andrew, SDS (Assistant Advocacy Coordinator). Representing RCAM-OSM were Engr. Bernard “Bobby” Q. Lasala (Head of Implementation and Support), Mr. Abel P. Nosce Jr. (Chief Strategic Officer), and Mr. Bert Abelyas (Officer Assistant).
