𝗦𝗔𝗟𝗨𝗚 𝗩𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗘𝗬 | 𝗧𝗢𝗗𝗔𝗬 𝗜𝗦 𝟰𝟮𝟬 𝗗𝗔𝗬!

420 refers to cannabis consumption and cannabis culture which represents a time of day to consume w**d (4:20 p.m.) and a date to celebrate it.

Cannabis culture is gaining popularity with growing numbers of advocacy groups. There were iconic 420 gatherings with some (according to online sources) having massive cloud of smoke rising above a sea of people. Filipinos who identify themselves and or support the cannabis culture celebrate 420 through music, family-oriented events, camping and outdoor activities. 420 is hyped and touted as better than crystal (illegal) drugs) but we won't see on smoking cannabis in public.

In the Philippines, ma*****na is illegal (under RA 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act). Legalization movements are gaining traction at least for medical use - not for recreational use. Medical cannabis bills were filed and debated over several congresses until in February 2026, the Committee on Dangerous Drugs and Committee on Health (Lower House) approved a consolidated bill in to legalize medical ma*****na.

There are no known public 420 celebrations and gatherings in Salug Valley.

IPMR Shirlito Gandamon Pata-an serves as legislative representative of indigenous peoples. He has the same powers and duties as regular Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member of Mahayag.

The IPMR is chosen through a community-determined process.
