The Local Government Unit of Magarao, through its participation in the Open Government Partnership (OGP), invites all members of the OGP Steering Committee to the Problem-Solution Workshop for the identification of the Municipality's Flagship Program.

This collaborative workshop aims to gather ideas, identify priority community concerns, and co-create innovative solutions that will shape programs and projects for a more responsive, transparent, accountable, and inclusive local government.

On August 3, 2026, representatives of the Peรฑafrancia Caballeros ๐“”๐“ช๐“ฐ๐“ต๐“ฎ๐“ผ Clubโ€”Committee Chairman ๐“”๐“ช๐“ฐ๐“ต๐“ฎ Joel Orea, ๐“”๐“ช๐“ฐ๐“ต๐“ฎ Gab Monasterio, and ๐“”๐“ช๐“ฐ๐“ต๐“ฎ Rob Asuanโ€”held a coordination meeting with Mayor MM Seรฑar, Municipal Mayor of Magarao, and Ar. Deemie Jacmoc, MPDO. The discussion was followed by an on-site evaluation in Zone 5, Carangcang, Magarao, Camarines Sur, for the proposed Bahay Kubo Shelter Project. The facility is designed to serve as a multipurpose rest area, meeting space, and training venue for the members of Magarao Vegetable Growers Association (MAVEGA) and Carangcang Flower Growers Organization (CAFGO).

Representatives from various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) across the Municipalities of Bato, Bula, and Magarao, together with the Naga City People's Council, gathered for the online training entitled "Adapt & Innovate (A+I) Leadership Course โ€“ Phase 1" under the Gendered Actions on Peace, Advocacy, and Community Transformation (GPACT) Project held last July 2, 2026 at Masosu Spring Resort & Reception Hall, Iriga City.

The Municipality of Magarao was proudly represented by the Magarao People's Council (MPC), Magarao Hilot Association (MHA), Jose "Pepe" Cabrera Foundation, Inc. (JCFI), Sta. Luciaโ€“Carangcang Tricycle Operators and Drivers Association (SLC-TODA), and the Magarao Persons with Disability Organization.

We are deeply honored to receive a Certificate of Appreciation from the Philippine Open Government Partnership through the Department of Budget and Management in recognition of our active participation and meaningful contribution to the successful observance of Open Government Week 2026.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) of Magarao, under the leadership of Ms. Cristina M. Lasala, LDRRMO II, for selecting our Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) as beneficiaries of the two-day Basic Life Support and Standard First Aid Training conducted on June 1โ€“2, 2026, at Villa Caceres Hotel, Naga City.

This valuable training has equipped our CSO representatives with essential life-saving knowledge and practical skills that will enable us to respond effectively during emergencies and disasters within our communities.We also extend our sincere gratitude to the resource persons and facilitators who generously shared their expertise, experiences, and best practices throughout the training.

Likewise, we express our profound appreciation to Hon. Atty. Ma. Strengthening Unity and Productivity among Corn Farmersโ€

The Sta. Luciaโ€“Carangcang Corn Farmers Association successfully conducted its Annual General Assembly on May 29, 2026, at Brgy. Carangcang, Magarao, Camarines Sur.

The activity was graced by the presence of Mr. Oscar Adiova II, Regional Project Coordinator of the Adapting Philippine Agriculture to Climate Change (APA) Project; Ms. Clarisse M. Yome, PCIC Insurance Underwriter; Mr. Robel D. Asuan, Municipal Cooperative Development Officer and CSO Desk Officer; Mr. Ronald A. Balaoro, Agricultural Technician for the Corn Program; and Hon. Bobby Paglingawan, Barangay Committee Chairperson on Agriculture.

A key highlight of the assembly was the presentation of the Association's Financial Report, updates on organizational matters, and discussions on programs and services beneficial to farmer-members. The invited guests also shared valuable information on agricultural development initiatives, crop insurance, and climate-resilient farming practices.

The annual gathering served as an important platform for transparency, accountability, and collective decision-making, reaffirming the Association's commitment to advancing the welfare and productivity of its members.

Magarao-Naga Transport Cooperative (MAGTRANSCO) Consultative Meeting

A consultative meeting was held today, May 26, 2026 with the Magarao-Naga Transport Cooperative (MAGTRANSCO) to discuss organizational concerns and strengthen compliance among its members.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Robel D. Asuan, Municipal Cooperative Development Officer (MCDO) and Civil Society Organization (CSO) Desk Officer of the Municipality of Magarao, together with the cooperativeโ€™s Board of Directors (BODs).

The consultation focused on addressing issues related to member non-participation and non-compliance with cooperative policies and obligations. During the discussion, the BODs identified existing compliance concerns and explored appropriate corrective measures and interventions aimed at improving member engagement and ensuring adherence to cooperative principles and policies.
