Get Dressed for the Day

Colossians 3:12
“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.”

1. Remember who you are
Paul starts with identity, not behavior. Before he says do this, he says you are this: chosen, set apart, and dearly loved. You don’t earn God’s love by being compassionate. You start from being loved, and compassion flows from there.

2. Clothing is intentional
No one accidentally puts on a suit. “Clothe yourselves” means today is a choice. You decide what you wear into your conversations, traffic, work meetings, and family dinners.

3. The wardrobe of Christ
• Compassion: Feel with people, not just for them.
• Kindness: Look for small ways to make someone’s day easier.
• Humility: You don’t have to be the most important person in the room.
• Gentleness: Strength under control. Power that doesn’t crush.
• Patience: Give people the same room to grow that God gives you.

Prayer :
Father, thank You for choosing me and calling me Yours. Before I check my phone or walk out the door, help me get dressed in Christ. Let compassion be my shirt, kindness my jacket, humility my shoes, gentleness my posture, and patience my watch.

May people see You in how I treat them today. Amen.

She draws strength from Scripture,
standing firm like a tree planted
by streams of water.

Conclusion:
A mother is a beautiful reflection of God's love- faithful, strong, and full of grace. When she walks with God, her life becomes a blessing not only to her family but to everyone around her.

Choose to trust even when you don’t understand yet. ✨
