𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞 | 𝗦𝗜𝗗-𝗠𝗔𝗖𝗢 𝗖𝗛𝗔𝗣𝗧𝗘𝗥'𝗦 𝗠𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗛𝗟𝗬 𝗠𝗘𝗘𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗔 𝗡𝗘𝗪 𝗦𝗘𝗧 𝗢𝗙 𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗘𝗥𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗔𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

The DDOSP–SID Maco Chapter successfully held its monthly meeting and election of new set of officers on May 24, 2026, at the Atty. Arturo S. Rimando Hall, Municipal Grounds, Binuangan, Maco, Davao de Oro. The meeting focused on shaping the organization's leadership, discussing strategic plans for the upcoming academic year, and preparing for the next General Assembly.

A key highlight of the agenda was the election of the new set of officers, where Angela S. Sabidor was elected as the new Chapter President. Following the elections, outgoing SID Maco Chapter President Sebastian Jr. S. Juanillo spearheaded a discussion on the preparations for the upcoming General Assembly, scheduled on June 21, 2026, at the Monkayo Dome, where he carefully mapped out the event details, contribution amounts, and participant lists.

The officers highly encourage all scholars of the SID Maco Chapter to actively participate in all the events for the upcoming General Assembly!

𝗙𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗚𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗨𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗔𝘀𝘀 2026 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗘𝗮𝗣 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲

Federation officers and coordinators of Samahan ng mga Iskolar ng Davao de Oro (SID) convened online for their eighth monthly meeting today, March 29, to deliberate the activity design for the General Assembly and discuss the localized implementation of the LEaP! (Learning to Earning Pathways) program.

Organization coordinators Alexis Micutuan and John Michael Ladroma joined the virtual session, providing guidance on upcoming administrative activities.

A primary focus of the meeting was the deliberation on the activity design for the General Assembly 2026 this June. Officers discussed the logistical framework and thematic elements of the event, which is expected to bring together scholars from across the province for a celebration of unity and service.

In line with these preparations, the leadership confirmed an upcoming courtesy call with Provincial Governor Raul Mabanglo. This meeting aims to strengthen the partnership between the scholar-led organization and the provincial government, ensuring continued support for the organization’s initiatives.

The meeting also introduced the LEaP!, a youth development initiative implemented by the Ateneo Learning and Teaching Excellence Center (ALTEC) of Ateneo de Zamboanga University, in partnership with UNICEF Philippines. The program aims to empower underserved youth by supporting them through every stage of growth—from education and leadership to sustainable employment.

As the second semester progresses, the federation remains focused on bringing balance to its ongoing administrative goals and grassroots community service.

Noong ika-21 ng Setyembre 1972, isinailalim ang Pilipinas sa Batas Militar o Martial Law na nagdulot ng mahabang panahon ng paniniil at kawalan ng kalayaan. Ngunit noong ika-22 hanggang ika-25 ng Pebrero, 1986, nagkaisa ang sambayanang Pilipino sa kahabaan ng Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) upang tapusin ang diktadurya. Mula sa panawagan ng simbahan at suporta ng militar, milyun-milyong mamamayan mula sa iba’t ibang sektor, mga madre, estudyante, at pamilya ang nagkapit-bisig nang walang armas kundi panalangin at tapang para harapin ang mga tangke at baril.

Ang kasaysayan ay maaaring baguhin ng iba, ngunit ang katotohanan ay hindi kailanman mabubura. Ang diwa ng EDSA ay mananatiling buhay hangga't ipinaglalaban natin ang katarungan at demokrasya. Ang pag-alala sa EDSA People Power Revolution ay hindi lamang pagbabalik-tanaw sa kasaysayan, kundi isang paalala ng kapangyarihan ng pagkakaisa. Sa kasalukuyang panahon, ang kahalagahan ng EDSA ay nagsisilbing pundasyon ng ating tinatamasang demokrasya at karapatang pantao. Ito ay isang paanyaya sa bawat Pilipino na manatiling mapagmatyag at protektahan ang ating kalayaan laban sa anumang anyo ng pang-aapi, upang matiyak na ang sakripisyo ng nakaraan ay patuloy na magbubunga ng hustisya at katotohanan para sa susunod na henerasyon.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗩 | 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐌𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐎-𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐂𝐄𝐒

The Samahan ng mga Iskolar ng Davao de Oro (SID) - Maco Chapter spent a productive and meaningful day at Maco Central Elementary School (MCES) on February 7, 2026. The scholars came together for our second semester community service, focusing on school improvements and environmental projects. It was a hands-on day dedicated to giving back to the community that supports us.

We want to send a huge thank you to the Municipal Agriculturist Office Maco (MAGRO-Maco) for donating the seedlings, and to Maco Central Elementary School, led by Ma’am Christe S. Lancian, School Principal II. Your cooperation and encouragement have inspired us to do our best and achieve our goals. We are deeply thankful for the opportunity to work with such supportive and reliable partners.

𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗩 | 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚 𝐯𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭, 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬!

With teamwork, unity, and strong collaboration, the DDOSP-SID Maco Chapter successfully carried out the beautification of the classrooms, Gulayan sa Paaralan, library, gymnasium, and various areas of Maco Central Elementary School.

Before the project, several areas of the school needed improvement—classrooms lacked visual appeal and organization, the Gulayan sa Paaralan required maintenance and enhancement, the library needed better arrangement to create a more inviting reading space, and the gymnasium showed signs of wear that affected its overall appearance.

Through the organization’s initiative, a visible transformation was achieved. The classrooms became brighter, cleaner, and more conducive to learning. The Gulayan sa Paaralan was restored and properly maintained, promoting sustainability and active student participation. The library was reorganized into a more welcoming and functional space for studying and reading, while the gymnasium became a more inviting venue for school programs and activities.

The 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲-𝗮𝗻𝗱-𝗮𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 results emphasize the organization’s dedication to serving the community while embodying the attributes of being scholars of Davao de Oro.

𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐓 𝐈𝐈𝐈 | 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

To formally conclude the community service activity, the scholars conducted an evaluation process aimed at assessing their overall performance and coordination throughout the program. This evaluation served as an opportunity to reflect on how effectively they carried out their assigned tasks, how well they collaborated with one another, and how smoothly the activities were implemented.

Additionally, our 4th-year ates and kuya were also given the opportunity to look back on the moments that defined their scholarship experience. From the first day to the final semester, they were provided a dedicated space to reflect on their journey, celebrate their growth, and honor the lasting impact they’ve made through the scholarship program.
