[๐ฅ๐๐๐] USeP BSA Students Complete ATIโs e-Extension Courses on Agriculture and Fisheries โ
In a landmark event for agricultural education, the Agricultural Training InstituteโRegional Training Center XI (ATI-RTC XI) held an e-Learning graduation ceremony at the University of Southeastern PhilippinesโMabini Unit on November 26, 2025, at the PECC Gym. The event recognized the successful completion of ATIโs online courses on agriculture and fisheries by second-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) students.
The e-Learning courses are part of ATIโs e-Extension for Agriculture and Fisheries program โ a distance-learning modality designed to make agricultural and fisheries education more accessible to students, farmers, fishers, and other stakeholders.
During the ceremony, the BSA second-year graduates were awarded certificates of completion, acknowledging their dedication to self-paced digital learning. In addition, students who completed a greater number of courses received special prizes in recognition of their effort.
Officials from ATI-RTC XI, together with USeP faculty and administrators, graced the occasion. Among the USeP representatives present were Lauro Aguanta, Extension Head of USeP-Mabini; Cristy F. Owanes, Faculty Member; Dr. Larry Aceres, Associate Dean; and Dr. Dernie Olguerra, Program Head of the BSA program. They commended the students for embracing modern, ICT-enabled approaches to learning, noting that such initiatives reflect a growing shift in agricultural education toward digital platforms.
The ATI e-Extension program has previously partnered with other institutions and schools; in some regions, high school students participating in the program have also been honored upon completion. By including college-level students from USeP, the program is expanding its reach โ offering flexible, supplemental learning to complement formal university education.
For the graduates, completing ATIโs e-Learning courses offers more than just a certificate. It provides additional training in crop production, fisheries, sustainable farming practices, and other agri-fisheries topics that can support their future roles in agriculture, research, extension work, or agripreneurship. Through initiatives like this, ATI continues to fulfill its mandate as the knowledge bank and capacity builder for the countryโs agriculture and fisheries sector.
