There were seasons when I kept asking God, “Why am I going through this?”

Now, I’m slowly learning to ask a different question:

“God, what are You trying to teach me through this?”

Here are 10 things life and faith have taught me about gratitude:

1. Waking up is already a blessing.
Not every miracle arrives dramatically. Sometimes, the miracle is simply getting another morning.

2. Peace is more valuable than proving a point.
Some battles are not worth winning if they cost you your peace.

3. People are gifts, not guarantees.
Love them. Thank them. Show up for them while you still can.

4. Closed doors can also be protection.
Not everything I lost was meant to destroy me. Some things had to leave to redirect me.

5. Ordinary days are sacred too.
A meal. A conversation. A quiet drive. A sunset. These are the moments we often miss while waiting for something “big.”

6. I don’t need everything I prayed for to be grateful.
Sometimes, gratitude means trusting God even while the prayer is still unanswered.

7. Pain can change the way you see blessings.
After surviving difficult seasons, the things I once considered small suddenly became priceless.

8. Comparison steals gratitude.
Someone else’s blessing does not diminish mine. My life does not need to look like theirs to still be beautiful.

9. Being alive means there is still purpose ahead.
If God gave me another day, then there is still someone to love, something to learn, something to give, and something worth becoming.

10. Gratitude is not pretending life is perfect.
It is being able to say, even after everything:

“Lord, life has been difficult… but thank You that I am still here.”

Maybe that is one of the greatest lessons God has been teaching me:

You don’t have to wait for life to become perfect before you become grateful for it.

Today, I’m choosing to notice what remains instead of only mourning what was lost. Thank You, God, for another chance. 🤍 What is one thing you’re grateful for today?

Panginoon, sa gitna ng malakas na ulan at bagyo, buong puso po naming ipinagdarasal ang aming bayan 🙏🏼

Ingatan Niyo po ang bawat pamilya, lalo na ang mga nasa baybayin, mabababang lugar at mga komunidad na higit na nanganganib. Ilayo Niyo kami sa anumang kapahamakan, pagbaha, pagguho ng lupa at aksidente.

Bigyan Niyo po ng lakas at proteksyon ang ating mga rescuers, responders, barangay officials, volunteers at lahat ng patuloy na naglilingkod para sa kaligtasan ng aming mga kababayan.

Nawa’y manatili kaming kalmado, handa, mapagmatyag, at higit sa lahat handang tumulong sa isa’t isa.

Panginoon, yakapin Niyo ang aming bayab ng Inyong proteksyon. Nawa’y malampasan namin ang bagyong ito nang ligtas at sama-sama.
