𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭, 𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬

𝐀𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟏𝟓 | 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐬, Patron of Altar Servers

Tarcisius was a twelve-year-old acolyte during the fierce Roman persecutions of the third century. Each day, they celebrate a mass inside a hidden catacomb, a deacon would be sent to the prisons to carry the Eucharist to those Christians condemned to die. At one point, there was no deacon to send and so St. Tarcisius, an acolyte, was sent carrying the "Holy Mysteries" to those in prison.

On the way, he was stopped by his pagan playmates. He was asked to join their games, but this time he refused and the crowd of boys noticed that he was carrying something. Anxious to view the Christian Mysteries, they became a mob and turned upon Tarcisius with fury. He went down under the blows, and it is believed that a fellow Christian drove off the mob and rescued the young acolyte.

The mangled body of Tarcisius was carried back to the catacombs, but the boy died on the way from his injuries.

Dear St. Tarcisius, you lived in a dangerous time to be a Christian. Despite the risk, you held fast to your faith and bravely chose to defend the body of Christ present in the Eucharist at the expense of your own. To the last moment, you cherished Jesus' gift of Himself. Intercede and pray for us that we may have courage and a deep faith. Pray that we may never forget how precious a gift the Holy Eucharist is for us. Amen.

𝐍𝐄𝐖𝐒 | 𝐌𝐏𝐘𝐌 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐡 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭-𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚

As part of the Fiestang Patron 2026 celebration, the Mabalacat Parish Youth Ministry (MPYM) gathered more than 200 young parishioners for its first-ever Barriochella: Sayaw Kabataan – A Parish Youth Day on July 21, fostering unity and fellowship.

The program commenced with a doxology led by the Parish Youth Animators, followed by an opening prayer led by Bro. Aervin Neal Mijares, Parish Youth Leader, seeking God's guidance throughout the event.

After setting a solemn tone, Rev. Fr. Reynaldo M. Cruz, Parish Priest, delivered a welcome message to the attendees, emphasizing the event's mission to unite youth from different communities in faith and service.

The highlight of the celebration was the cultural dance presentations prepared by the representatives from 15 different chapels and organizations. Through music and dance, the participants showcased the richness of Filipino culture, with many performances paying tribute to the traditions and heritage of Pampanga.

A lunch fellowship was held between the performances, providing participants with the opportunity to interact with fellow ministries while strengthening camaraderie within the parish community.

The MPYM Core Group later presented a special performance that reflected the central message of the gathering—unity, faith, and active youth participation in the life of the Church.

The celebration continued with a community dance led by the MPYM Core Group and the Parish Youth Choir, encouraging active participation from attendees.

The event concluded with the singing of the Dalit nang Apung Gracia, followed by the final blessing imparted by Fr. Cruz.

Barriochella 2026 marked a milestone in MPYM's continuing efforts to strengthen youth engagement and foster a deeper sense of community. Beyond serving as a venue for cultural expression and celebration, the event affirmed that the Church is a community where faith, fellowship, and service continue to grow together.
