The Political Science organization Civitas et Agora held its General Assembly on January 30, 2026, at the Abgao Gym, beginning at 9:00 a.m. The assembly was presided over by the organizationโs president, Kier Oclida, and attended by members of the organization to address key institutional and organizational matters.
The program formally opened with a welcome address delivered by President Kier Oclida, who acknowledged the members and emphasized the importance of active participation in advancing the organizationโs goals. This was followed by the presentation and discussion of the organizationโs approved Constitution and By-Laws, allowing members to gain a clearer understanding of its guiding principles, structure, and governance.
Followed by the presentation of the organizationโs treasurer, Kim Bacala, who provided a detailed report on the organizationโs financial status, ensuring transparency and accountability in the management of collected funds.
This was then followed by the presentation of the organizationโs secretary, Angelo Perez, who outlined the Community Action Plan for the Community Extension Service (CES), detailing the organizationโs planned community engagement initiatives and prospective areas for civic involvement. The plan emphasized service-oriented programs aimed at extending the organizationโs advocacy beyond the campus and into the wider community.
To foster camaraderie and encourage active participation, the program also included a short bingo activity, providing members an opportunity for engagement in a more relaxed setting prior to the distribution of snacks. Additionally, feedback forms were distributed to gather membersโ insights and evaluations, reinforcing the organizationโs commitment to continuous improvement and the enhancement of future programs.
The General Assembly concluded with closing remarks delivered by Vice President Dynara Llano, formally marking the end of the program. Overall, the assembly served as a platform for transparency, planning, and collective reflection.
As Civitas et Agora moves forward, the organization reaffirms its commitment to principled leadership, participation, and meaningful civic engagement, guided by a shared responsibility to serve both the institution and the communities beyond it.
