Star Apple Leyte Fund Irish/Filipino Charity based in Maasin City, Southern Leyte. Founded by Pascal Canning, to help the people from the Leyte rebuild their lives after Haiyan

Soon after the disaster, I set up a charity 'Star Apple Fund' on facebook, (now registered as 'Star Apple Foundation' and being processed as a registered non-stock/non-profit corporation}. The aim of the charity is to help indigent (very poor) families rebuild their lives, by rebuilding their simple homes. My first building project was in Sityo Boho, Barangay Tugas, Tabango, Leyte. Here we built 3

1 houses for approximately 200 people. This project is complete, even though there are at least 50 more families living in boxes. In Tolosa, Leyte, we already completed 51, housing another 300 people. After Tolosa we completed a further 20 houses in Dapanas, Tabango
