The ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ต๐ถ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฌ๐ผ๐๐๐ต ๐ข๐ฟ๐ด๐ฎ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐ถ๐ป๐ผ๐๐ผ (KYOT) actively participated in the Sarbay Coastal Cleanup Activity held in Tinoto, Maasim, Sarangani Province, showcasing the organizationโs commitment to environmental protection and community service. The activity was spearheaded by the Department of Tourism (DOT) Soccsksargen Office in collaboration with the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape, RC Metro Koronadal, Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao, PNP Maritime, the Philippine Navy, LGU Maasim- Tourism Office, BLGU of Tinoto, MENRO Maasim, Eulap, Sarbay Freedivers, Blackstone Freediving, GenSan Freediving, Visit SOX Philippines, Rotary Club of Tupi, and Marine Biology Students Society of MSU- Gensan.
The coastal cleanup brought together volunteers, local residents, and partner agencies in a collective effort to preserve and protect the coastal environment of Tinoto. Through teamwork and shared responsibility, participants successfully collected a total of 10 tons of wet waste from the shoreline and surrounding coastal areas.
The involvement of the Katahikan Youth Organization highlights the important role of the youth in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices within the community. Their active participation reflects a strong dedication to safeguarding marine resources and maintaining the cleanliness and beauty of Tinotoโs coastal areas for future generations.
