🩷 POGS Laban Para Kay Nanay, Nene, at Iba Pa

The Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society (POGS) Reproductive Health Committee, in collaboration with the POGS Southern Tagalog Chapter–Quezon, Quezon Provincial Health Office, and Quezon Medical Society (QMS), conducted “POGS Laban Para Kay Nanay, Nene, at Iba Pa” on September 2, 2026 at Quezon Science High School.

The activity featured an RH Comprehensive Sexuality Education Panel Discussion centered on:

“Sex Education: POGS answer questions you DON’T dare to ASK and Di Ko Sila Ma-getz: PREPARE To Communicate With Your Teens.”

The forum provided an open and meaningful space for young people to learn about reproductive health, sexuality, relationships, and responsible decision-making, while highlighting the importance of honest, respectful, and age-appropriate communication between adolescents, parents, educators, and healthcare professionals.

Through this collaborative effort, QMS continues to support initiatives that promote health education, adolescent well-being, and empowered communities.

🥗🪱 PROMOTING HEALTHY, WELL-NOURISHED CHILDREN! 🪱🥗

The Quezon Medical Society (QMS), in collaboration with the Philippine Pediatric Society (PPS) and Department of Education – Lucena City, conducted a Lay Forum on Nutrition and Deworming on August 25, 2026, from 2:30–4:00 PM at Dalahican Elementary School.

The activity brought together approximately 100 students and their parents/guardians, emphasizing the importance of proper nutrition, healthy eating habits, hygiene, and regular deworming in promoting children’s health and development.

👩‍⚕️ Nutrition Forum
Dr. Rosalia Belen Bonus discussed proper nutrition and healthy food choices for growing children, including practical guidance through the Pinggang Pinoy approach.

👩‍⚕️ Deworming Forum
Dr. Maila Savedia provided important information on intestinal parasites, the benefits of regular deworming, proper hygiene, and prevention of parasitic infections.

This collaborative initiative demonstrates our shared commitment to health promotion, disease prevention, and child wellness, bringing essential health education and services closer to our communities and schools.

A meaningful milestone for maternal and newborn healthcare in Quezon Province!

Today, 25 August 2026, the Quezon Human Milk Bank was inaugurated at the QPHN–Quezon Medical Center Lobby, marking the establishment of the first Human Milk Bank in Quezon Province.

This important initiative strengthens our commitment to protecting, promoting, and supporting breastfeeding, while ensuring that vulnerable newborns have access to safe donor human milk when their mothers’ own milk is unavailable or insufficient.

The Quezon Medical Society (QMS) is honored to support this significant endeavor and to be part of a collaborative effort that places the health and well-being of mothers and children at the heart of healthcare.
