The Final Scholar, A Lasting Legacy

During School Year 2022 to 2023, under the leadership of SSG President Ayesa Ysabelle Landicho, Project SCHOOL SUPPLIES was initiated to support four (4) deserving students from Grades 7 to 10 by providing them with essential school supplies until they complete their moving up. Every two to three months, these supplies are distributed to ensure continuous support.

The project was continued in School Year 2023 to 2024 under SSLG President Poleen Umali, sustained through School Year 2024 to 2025 under SSLG President Shakira Apritado, and is currently carried out under SSLG President Cloe Moira Zeta for School Year 2025 to 2026. This initiative is made possible through the generous sponsorship of Mr. Wayne and Mrs. Lita McGirt from California.

This year marks a milestone as the last scholar graduates, completing four (4) years of successful implementation. 🎓

Project SCHOOL SUPPLIES provides essential learning materials to four students at LCNHS–Mayao Castillo Extension. The beneficiaries are John Denver Magsadia, the last remaining scholar, who is set to graduate this year as a Grade 10 student; Shane Dudas, who began receiving supplies in Grade 8 and has already completed Grade 10; Julian Sepillio, who started receiving support in Grade 9 and has now finished Grade 10; and Caila Garcia, who became a scholar in Grade 10 and was the first among the four to graduate. John Denver’s upcoming moving up marks the successful completion of the fourth year of the project.
On behalf of the four scholars and the SSG/SSLG officers from the past four school years, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Wayne and Mrs. Lita McGirt for their unwavering generosity. Their support has greatly impacted the lives of these young learners.

Looking ahead, they are eager to meet with the new set of officers for the next school year to select another batch of scholars for the next four years. 💙

May their kindness continue to inspire and bless many more students. 🙏

In celebration of National Women's Month, LCNHS-Mayao Castillo Extension shares the inspiring story of Jacquiline S. Monterero, our school guidance coordinator. She is a dedicated educator and guidance advocate who has served the institution for nine years, choosing to stay despite opportunities to move to larger, more prominent schools because of her deep commitment to her students and colleagues.

May her story reminds us that women can pursue any path they choose, whether in fields that were once uncommon for them or in roles that reflect the dreams of their families. Her nine years of dedication to our school show that success as a woman comes from making a meaningful impact, working together with colleagues, and inspiring young girls to follow their dreams with joy and integrity.

Happy Women’s Month! 💜

In celebration of National Women’s Month, LCNHS–Mayao Castillo Extension shares the inspiring story of Sai Chanelle Cusi, one of our students. According to her fellow student, Sai is kind, confident, and dedicated in everything she does. Her determination and positive attitude inspire many students in our school. She is truly a great example of a strong and inspiring young woman.

"My motivation in life comes from the women in my family, especially my mother and grandmother. Growing up, I saw their strength and sacrifices as they raised us despite difficulties. They are not “just women” but strong individuals who build lives, care for others, and contribute to the community. Even behind the scenes, they continue to inspire and empower, showing that women are essential and powerful.
The community and the family that surrounds me is my biggest motivation kase talaga sila yung nagp-push sakin to build a name for myself and to be someone better.

May her story remind us that through her journey as a student, the dedication and strength of the women around her played a vital role in shaping who she is today. Their guidance, sacrifices, and quiet resilience became her inspiration, allowing her to grow into someone who now reflects those same qualities and positively influences others around her.

In celebration of National Women's Month, LCNHS-Mayao Castillo Extension shares the inspiring story of Maryloid Montero, our school canteener. She is kind, hardworking, and loved by students for her dedication in serving in our school canteen.

May her story remind us that even in simple work like serving in the school canteen, a woman's hard work and dedication creates a meaningful impact on the entire school community.

Happy Women’s Month! 💜

“Strong leaders aren’t made overnight. They grow through teamwork, challenges, and the courage to step up even when it feels uncomfortable.”
-Nelson Mandela

Day 2 of our Leadership Training and Capacity Building last February 20, 2026, was filled with meaningful learning, genuine laughter, and powerful moments of growth. Together, we built confidence, faced challenges, and realized that leadership is not about being the loudest voice in the room. It is about listening, uplifting others, and leading with integrity and heart.

Each activity reminded us that true leaders inspire by example and create space for others to grow, shine, and become the best versions of themselves.
