The 4-H Club of Mayao Parada Agricultural Integrated High School (MPAIHS) successfully conducted an Orientation and Leadership Training for 4-H members and officers on October 15, 2025, for School Year 2025โ2026. The event was spearheaded by the 4-H Club adviser, Mrs. Michelle A. Morong, with the theme โEmpowering Future Agricultural Leaders Through Building Skill and Leadership.โ
The activity aimed to provide the youth with opportunities to โlearn by doingโ through individual, group, and community projects. It also sought to enhance the knowledge and skills of 4-H members and officers to become effective leaders within their organization and community.
The registration began at 3:00 p.m. in the ICT Room of the Senior High School building. The program opened with a prayer and a nationalistic song presented through a video. Representing the school principal, Mrs. Sherin Bustamante, Mrs. Morong delivered the opening remarks, officially welcoming everyone and expressing appreciation to the guest speaker, Mr. Dexter Z. Landicho.
This was followed by the presentation of participants, led by Mr. Kien Cedrick A. Calapit, the 4-H Club President. Mrs. Morong then provided an overview of the trainingโs rationale and objectives, emphasizing the importance of developing leadership skills among the youth. Afterwards, Ms. Jennelyn L. Acesor introduced the resource speaker, highlighting his outstanding credentials โ a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from Southern Luzon State University, a Masterโs Degree in Horticulture from Cavite State University, and his ongoing pursuit of further education at Dalubhasaan ng Lucena. She also shared one of his guiding principles: โLife is not about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself.โ
Mr. Landicho then conducted an engaging and informative discussion on leadership, capturing the participantsโ attention with his insights and enthusiasm. He shared the history of the 4-H Club, its notable achievements, and its role in shaping young agricultural leaders. To deepen the participantsโ understanding, he facilitated three group activities that represented the three types of leadership styles: democratic, autocratic, and delegative (laissez-faire) leadership.
The leadership training at MPAIHS was a resounding success, equipping participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills to become effective leaders in their respective fields. The event stood as a testament to 4-Hโs commitment to nurturing the full potential of future agricultural leaders and its continued dedication to community development and youth empowerment.
