Twenty two active members of the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Lucena gathered at Cerca del Rio for a purposeful reflection and forward planning.

After the opening protocols, Charter President Estrella Martinez delivered a sharp Rotary Information segment on member qualifications and recruitment.

Treasurer Luningning Mendoza followed with a transparent financial report that reinforced fiscal accountability.

President-Elect Lea Velarde then ignited a lively exchange during her 4:1 Cruise Training feedback, observing that sea-based leadership development has equipped the club with scalable tools for boosting membership and project efficiency.

In President's Time, Heart Working President Emmie Madla reviewed recent accomplishments, highlighted upcoming Club and district activities and expressed sincere gratitude for the cooperation and support of Cosmopolitans since the start of her term.

As camaraderie and conversation flowed, the message resonated clearly:
RCCL isn't waiting for the next Rotary year, it's building momentum right now.

The Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Lucena (RCCL) actively participated in the Rotary International District 3820–Area 3 Intercity Meeting held on March 28, 2026 in Lucena City.

Leading the delegation was Club President Emmie Madla accompanied by Immediate Past President Sonia Leyson, Club Secretary Raine Calaycay, Past Presidents Juliet Roces and Tess Merjudio, and President-Elect Lea Velarde.

During the event, the delegation formally presented the club’s key accomplishments for Rotary Year 2025–2026. The report was delivered through a five-minute audiovisual presentation, which encapsulated the club’s initiatives, community projects, and institutional milestones achieved over the course of the year.

LUCENA CITY – The Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Lucena demonstrated its commitment to community development as its Heart Working President, Emmie Madla, served as a non-governmental organization (NGO) representative during the recent online validation for a prestigious local governance award.

President Emmie was invited to witness the virtual assessment of Quezon Province Governor Helen Tan, who is a nominee for the Outstanding Local Chief Executive – Province Category. The evaluation was conducted by the Association of Local Social Welfare and Development Officers of the Philippines, Inc. (ALSWDOPI) on March 10, 2026.

Held at the Provincial Capitol’s Conference Hall, the validation process assessed the Governor’s leadership and social welfare programs. HWP Emmie joined a distinguished panel of Rotarians in attendance, including IPP Sonia Leyson, who also serves as the Quezon Provincial Social Welfare and Development Officer, and PP Annie Cayabat, a Past National President of ALSWDOPI.

The presence of the Rotary Club representatives underscored the strong partnership between the civic organization and the provincial government in advancing social protection and development initiatives across Quezon.

In a strong demonstration of its dedication to Rotary’s core mission, the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Lucena actively participated in the recently concluded District 3820 4:1 seminar series held in Costa Serena Cruise from March 3-9, 2026, the event brought together Rotarians from across the district for an intensive learning and collaborative experience.

The seminar lineup featured focused sessions on PESECLFS, DLS, TRF Grant Management, and the VIBRANT seminars. These sessions were designed to equip members with the essential tools and updated knowledge required to implement effective and sustainable humanitarian projects in the year ahead led by President-Elect Lea Velarde.

Beyond the cruise’s recreational offerings, the journey served as a productive platform for professional growth and fellowship. The commitment of the club was formally acknowledged when it received special recognition for fielding the largest delegation at the event, with 23 members in attendance.

In a continued effort to promote ethical standards and community visibility, members of the Rotary Club of Cosmopolitan Lucena recently convened for photo opportunity at their newly installed Rotary marker featuring the iconic "Four-Way Test."

The marker is strategically positioned at the boundary of Barangay Talipan, Pagbilao, and Barangay Silangang Mayao, Lucena City. (Maharlika Highway).This high-visibility location ensures that the timeless principles of Rotary—embodied by the questions of Truth, Fairness, Goodwill, and Beneficial outcomes are prominently displayed to the thousands of motorists and passers-by who traverse this thoroughfare daily.

This impactful community project was spearheaded by Heart Working President Emmie Madla, demonstrating her dedication to leaving a lasting visual imprint of the Club’s values in the community.
