📌 VETERINARY BILL UPDATE

This bill covers the vaccinations and health check-ups our rescued animals received on May 13 to help keep them healthy and protected from disease.

Thank you to everyone who donated today. We have raised ₱1,380 so far toward our outstanding veterinary bill of ₱4,660.

We still need ₱3,280 to fully settle the balance. If 33 people can spare ₱100 each, we can close this bill and continue providing essential care to our rescues.

HELP US SETTLE OUR OUTSTANDING VETERINARY BILL

Last May 13, our rescued animals at the shelter received much-needed veterinary care, including health check-ups and vaccinations to help keep them healthy and protected.

The total cost of the service was ₱7,660, but we were only able to pay ₱3,000 at the time. As of today, we still have an outstanding balance of ₱4,660 with the veterinary clinic.

We are looking for 47 compassionate volunteers who can contribute ₱100 each to help us fully settle this bill.

These vaccinations and check-ups are essential in ensuring that our rescues remain healthy, preventing disease outbreaks and allowing them to have a better quality of life while they wait for their forever homes.

Every donation, no matter how small, directly supports the care and welfare of our rescued animals and helps us maintain a good relationship with the veterinarians who continue to assist our shelter.

In November 2025, we filed a criminal complaint against a man who allegedly slaughtered three cats in broad daylight while neighbors, including adults and minors, witnessed the incident.

According to witnesses, several residents and barangay officials repeatedly warned him and attempted to stop the killing. He was also informed that the incident was being recorded by the barangay CCTV system. Despite these warnings, the suspect allegedly ignored them and continued his actions.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, our team immediately traveled to the area that same evening to conduct an investigation. However, the suspect could not be taken into custody at that time, and the case proceeded through regular court filing.

Yesterday, we received official notice that the court has issued a warrant of arrest against the suspect, with bail set at ₱12,000.

This development marks an important step toward accountability and justice for the animals involved. The first court hearing is currently scheduled for November 2026.

Animal cruelty is not a private matter. When communities speak up, document abuses, and cooperate with authorities, offenders can be held accountable under the law. We will continue to monitor this case and provide updates as proceedings move forward.

Furvent Animal Rescue and Advocacy has an update from Axle’s Case.

GUILTY. JUSTICE SERVED.

After months of silence regarding the case of Axle, a significant development has finally been reached.

The court has found the individual responsible for the cruelty committed against Axle GUILTY and has ordered them to pay a ₱100,000 fine.

The prolonged silence was not due to inaction, but rather the ongoing legal process. Evidence was reviewed, proper procedures were followed, and the case went through the appropriate judicial channels to ensure due process was observed.

This verdict marks an important step in holding individuals accountable for acts of animal cruelty. It reinforces the principle that such actions are punishable under the law and will not be dismissed or overlooked.

Furvent Animal Rescue and Advocacy extends its gratitude to everyone who supported the case, provided information, and continued to advocate for Axle throughout the process. Public awareness and collective action played a vital role in keeping the case active and moving forward.

While no ruling can undo the suffering Axle endured, this decision stands as a clear message: animal cruelty carries consequences, and justice can be achieved.

What started as a viral video showing animal cruelty led to a full investigation involving multiple individuals and coordination with concerned authorities.

The minors involved were referred to the MSWDO for Social Case Study and assessment, where their discernment and circumstances were evaluated alongside the legal implications of their actions.

Following months of documentation, coordination, and case build-up—including back-and-forth processes between offices, deliberations with investigators, and compliance with required documents—the team proceeded to Cabanatuan City to file the complaint before the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.

The case has now been formally filed and is awaiting preliminary investigation and resolution within the next 2–3 weeks.

While the situation involving the minors was carefully assessed, the act of cruelty toward the animal remains a serious matter that demands accountability.

Animal cruelty should never be ignored or normalized. Every victim deserves justice.

You witnessed an animal being punished simply because it refused, or was unable, to do what it was being forced to do.

The easiest and most immediate way to help these animals is to stop supporting the very system that causes their suffering.

As long as there is demand for animal rides, animal performances, and other forms of animal exploitation, there will be people willing to force animals to work, regardless of the pain, fear, exhaustion, or punishment involved.

Every payment tells the industry there is profit in exploiting animals.
