Designed to address limited access to structured learning opportunities, 𝗨𝗣 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗸𝗮𝗝𝘂𝗮𝗻 seeks to strengthen knowledge acquisition of the youth on mangrove education through learning sessions and interactive activities, and highlight the importance of youth involvement in mangrove conservation.

The theme of World Food Day, "Innovate today. Nourish tomorrow”, highlights how combining modern technology, sustainable farming solutions, and traditional knowledge can help build resilient food systems that will nourish future generations.

International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction 2026: Resilience Starts at Home

Every October 13, we observe the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction (IDDRR), a global observance that highlights the importance of reducing disaster risks and building safer, more resilient communities. This year’s theme, “Resilience Starts at Home,” reminds us that disaster preparedness begins where we live with safer homes, informed decisions, and collective action.

🌱 AFFS-UPLB stands for environmental awareness, responsible stewardship, and resilient communities. We recognize that protecting people from disasters also means caring for our forests, watersheds, and other ecosystems while advocating for safer and more sustainable communities.

Let us remember that resilience is a shared responsibility, and meaningful action begins at home.

What if we could see the world the way they do?

A forest would be more than trees, a river more than water, and a coastline more than a stretch of land. For animals, these are homes, sources of food, shelter, and places where they live out their lives.

This World Animal Day, let’s take a moment to look beyond our own perspective. The choices we make and the spaces we change can shape the lives of countless species, whether we notice them or not.

Seeing the world through their eyes reminds us that we share this planet with them. And caring for animals also means caring for the habitats that keep them alive.
