UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society A duly recognized academic organization in the University of the Philippines Los Baños.

With the Institute of Chemistry's vision of pursuing and developing programs that will produce highly trained manpower equipped with the fundamental knowledge and sound of chemical principles as well as with strong research orientation, 5 BS Chemistry students pioneered the formation of a society that will advocate the said vision. With 36 charter members, the society was recognized by the Office

of Student Affairs on July 1993, and was formally known as the UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society. More popularly known as Chemokinesis, the society primarily aims to promote academic excellence and enhance students' knowledge in Chemistry and other related fields. Chemokinesis caters to six courses namely BS Chemistry, BS Agricultural Chemistry, BS Biology, BS Chemical Engineering, BS Mathematics and Science Teaching, and BS Food Technology.

In a society where the truth is being twisted to achieve harmful propaganda, the world stands united in observing World Press Freedom Day. Today, May 3, 2026, the world celebrates a fundamental right that continues to be threatened, with the theme: “Shaping a Future at Peace: Promoting Press Freedom for Human Rights, Development, and Security.” On this day, the people around the globe defy falsity.
The UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society strongly disproves any kind of harassment towards the media. We are for a world in which voices speak out without intimidation, where truth is preserved, and where dialogue prevails rather than conflict. We stand with the Filipinos, we stand with the oppressed, we stand against those who silence us.

Taong 1903 unang araw ng Mayo, nagpasya ang mga Pilipinong manggagawa na magprotesta tungkol sa mababang pasahod sa ilalim ng pananakop ng mga Amerikano. Isang sentenaryo na ang nakalipas at kasama pa rin sa ipinaglalaban ang pagtaas ng sahod at tila nadagdagan pa.

Kaisa ang UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society sa lupon ng Manggagawang Pilipino kontra sa mga isyung kanilang pasan-pasan dahil sa eksploytasyon at lantarang kurapsyon sa mga naka-upo sa pwesto. Isang taas kamaong pagpupugay sa bawat isang Manggagawang Pilipino na nahahanap buhay nang tapat sa sarili at sa bayan.

Kasama ang buong UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society sa panawagang ipatigil ang demolisyon sa Purok 6B, Brgy. Bambang, Los Baños. Ito ay lantarang pagtapak sa karapatan ng mga residenteng makapamuhay sa ipinagkaloob na pabahay sa pamamagitan ng Proclamation No. 550 noong taong 2004. Kinikilala ito ng buong organisasyon na isang malaking hamon bilang mga siyentista ng bayan; panatilihin nawa ng bawat isa na ang bawat hakbang tungo sa pag-unlad ay lagi't lagi para sa bayan!

More than just the theatrics and eleganza, the UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society remains rooted to its purpose-driven mission thirty-four years after its founding by taking its work beyond the pillars of the organization and into the heart of change with the community.

This 𝗔𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝟭𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 shares the celebration where it truly matters – with the people. Through the collective efforts of the organization and various donors, relief and aid will be extended to a fisherfolk and urban poor community in 𝗕𝗿𝗴𝘆. 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗼𝗻, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗮, 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗻𝗮 that is heavily affected by heavy flooding and the ongoing Laguna Lakeshore Road Network that continue to displace the local livelihood. This initiative will also be an opportunity to assess and identify needs-based solutions to issues on the ground for more concrete and grassroots-led work moving forward. ✊

The UPLB Chemical Kinetics Society believes that its milestones aren’t entirely all about what it has reached and what can be measured. It is a lifelong commitment to the people as catalysts for change. Thirty-four years of legacy finds its strength together with the masses. 💛💙
