HAPPENING NOW | UP CFNR Student Council attends Save Laguna Lakeshore Movement Forum

The 42nd UP CFNR Student Council stands in solidarity with the communities that rely on Laguna Lake for their livelihood in their everyday lives. The Council believes that by through crafting and spearheading research-backed and well-consulted steps on revitalizing the lake is vital to address the problems in terms of water quality, livelihood, ecological imbalance, biodiversity degradation, and the loss of the potential for ecotourism.

Additionally, the Council strongly and firmly condemns any forms of unfair, unjust, and inhumane advancement through development aggresion within the premises of the lake that can greatly affect nearby communities. As an archipelagic country that is rich in natural resources, we should prioritze its proper and ethical utilization while still striving for effective conservation for the upcoming generations to use for their needs.

Malinaw ang paninindigan ng mga kabataan-estudyante, mga g**o, mga kawani, at mga akademiko sa Timog Katagalugan kasama ang multisektoral na hanay ng mamamayan: Ang Reframed General Education Curriculum ng CHED ay sumasalamin sa patuloy na pagtulak sa mga makakapitalista at neoliberal na interes sa edukasyon na hindi nagsisilbi sa sambayanang Pilipino kaya nararapat lamang ang panawagan ng kagyat na pagbabasura nito.

Bilang tugon, ating isinusulong ang pagkakaroon ng isang makabayan, siyentipiko, at makamasang General Education at tipo ng edukasyon sa pangkabuuan sa buong bansa. Sa ganitong paninindigan, nilalayon natin na maging lunsaran ang akademya sa pagluluwal ng mamamayang may kritikal na pag-iisip, humahamon sa kasalukuyang kaayusan ng lipunan, at may malalim na pag-unawa sa kaniyang kakayahan at sa mas malawak na lipunang Pilipino.

Sa diwa ng pagkakaisa ng multisektoral na hanay ng mga mamamayan ng Timog Katagalugan, inaanyayahan ang lahat ng kaisa sa mga adhikain at prinsipyong ito na sumama sa ating pagkilos.

🗳️ FINAL TURNOUT UPDATE

Following four days of voting held from May 12 to 15, a total of 301 out of 861 CFNR students participated in the 2026 USC-CSC Elections. This resulted in a final college voter turnout of 34.96%, a slight increase from last year's voter turnout of 32.16% from the College.

NEWS UPDATE: The voting period for the 2026 USC-CSC Elections has been rescheduled to May 12–14, as announced by the Central Electoral Board (CEB) on Friday, May 8.

Originally set from May 8 to May 12, the voting period was adjusted following technical issues encountered in configuring the UPLB Halalan Server. In response, the CEB reached a consensus to move the elections to the new schedule.

Meanwhile, the proclamation of winning candidates is set for May 15. Candidates will also be permitted to continue their campaigns until Monday, May 11, at 11:59 PM.

MGA LARAWAN | Nagtipon-tipon ang mga kandidato para sa 𝗖𝗙𝗡𝗥 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 sa isinagawang Miting de Avance 2026 noong Mayo 6, 2026 sa Lansigan Hall Auditorium.

Ipinakilala ng bawat kandidato ang kanilang mga plataporma, adhikain, at paninindigan para sa sangkaestudyantehan ng CFNR at sa komunidad. Naging pagkakataon din ito upang higit na makilala ng mga mag-aaral ang mga tatakbo at ang kanilang mga plano para sa susunod na taon ng panunungkulan.

Karamihan sa kanilang mga plataporma ay nakatuon sa muling pagbabalik ng “Gubatbakan” at “Dahon,” pagpapalakas ng karapatan at kapakanan ng mga estudyante, at pagsusulong ng karapatang pangkalikasan at pangkomunidad.
