Sa pagyapak ninyo sa loob ng kolehiyo, nawa’y maging daan ang bawat aral at karanasan upang higit na maunawaan ang ugnayan ng tao, komunidad, kalikasan, at nutrisyon. Nawa’y magsilbing sandata ang kaalamang ito upang maitaguyod ang isang siyentipiko, makamasa, at makataong porma ng lipunan. Sapagkat ang pagiging iskolar ay humihigit sa pagiging isang titulo lamang, ito ay ginagawang porma ng pamumuhay at pakikibaka. ✊🔻

The council wishes to formally announce the resignations of Ex-Officio Zahara Marley De Robles and Shiftees and Transferees Representative Angelica Mei P. Sy.

On March 6, 2026, Ex-Officio Zahara Marley De Robles formally submitted her letter of resignation due to personal matters that may hinder her capacity to effectively fulfill her duties within the council. Her resignation took effect immediately upon submission, following her commitment to ensure a smooth transition of responsibilities and the completion of pending tasks within her committees.

Subsequently, on April 21, 2026, Councilor Angelica Mei P. Sy formally filed her resignation, effective April 22, 2026. Her decision to step down was rooted in her reflections on the current landscape of student representation, expressing the need to prioritize more urgent concerns affecting student rights while maintaining confidence in the council’s resilience.

Attached herewith are the full and official resignation letters of the two former council members for transparency.

In light of these changes, the overall headship of the Education and Research Committee will now be overseen by BS Nutrition Representative Ma. Lourdes Isabella S. Barcenas, while the Community Rights and Welfare Committee will officially be spearheaded by Vice Chairperson Mauren Cheyenne I. Dijamco temporarily.

As a result of these changes, former Ex-Officio Zahara Marley De Robles and Shiftees and Transferees Representative Angelica Mei P. Sy are no longer affiliated with the UPLB College of Human Ecology Freshman Council. The council expresses its sincere gratitude for their service, dedication, and contributions to the student body, and wishes them all the best in their personal, academic, and future endeavors.

Noong Abril 25, 2026, matagumpay na idinaos ang isang Online Education Discussion sa pangunguna ng University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) - College of Human Ecology. Layunin ng talakayang ito na magbahagi ng kaalaman at karanasan mula sa iba't ibang sektor na nagsusulong ng pangangalaga sa ating ekolohiya at kalikasan. 💚🌏

Ang diskusyon ay dinaluhan ng mga eksperto at lider mula sa iba't ibang organisasyon.

Mula sa Philippine Misereor Partnership Inc. (PMPI), inilatag ni Ms. Melody Asia ang matingkad na diskusyon ng kahalagahan ng adbokasiyang Rights of Nature na naglalayong mabigyang proteksyon ang Inang Kalikasan sa ating batas sa Pilipinas. Ibinahagi rin ni Mr. Algimar Guitang mula sa Marinduque Council for Environmental Concerns (MACEC) tungkol sa mga inisyatiba at aktibong pakikilahok ng mga kabataan sa kanilang lugar laban sa mapanirang pagmimina at pagtatanggol para sa kalikasan.

Mula naman sa Katutubong Kabataang Umuugat sa Kabundukan ng Sierra Madre (UGBON), ibinahagi ni Ms. Kristel Quierrez-Asa ang kaniyang makabuluhang mga kuwento, bilang kinatawan ng Katutubong Kabataan, tungkol sa araw-araw na pamumuhay at pakikibaka sa loob ng kanilang lupang ninuno.🌿🫶

Naging matagumpay ang talakayan at nagbuklod sa iba't ibang tinig mula sa legal na adbokasiya at inisyatiba ng kabataan hanggang sa mga pananaw ng mga katutubo upang bigyang-diin ang malawak at komprehensibong diskarte na kinakailangan para sa pagpapanatili ng ating maganda at payapang kalikasan. 🤝🔄
