𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐍𝐎𝐖: 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The FARM Philippines Project is currently holding its 3rd National Project Steering Committee (PSC) Meeting in Quezon City, Metro Manila, Philippines.

The project team is presenting its quarterly accomplishments, ongoing initiatives, and upcoming milestones, to the PSC. The meeting also serves as a venue for strategic discussions to ensure the project remains on track toward achieving its objectives.

The PSC is chaired by the Executive Director of the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST PCAARRD) and is composed of representatives from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Agriculture - Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS), the Philippine Chamber of Agriculture and Food, Inc. (PCAFI), and the Department of Agriculture - Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (DA-FPA). As the project's advisory body, the committee provides strategic guidance, strengthens inter-agency coordination, and validates key project directions and deliverables.

Joining the meeting are members of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and Technical Working Group (TWG) of FARM Philippines.

The previous PSC Meeting was held on March 31, 2026, while the 4th National PSC Meeting is scheduled for November 12, 2026.

The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), in collaboration with FARM Philippines, begins its three-day “Workshop on Developing Business Process Models (BPMs) for Digital Transformation of Services” from July 22 to 24 at the Agricultural Training Institute in Quezon City.

The workshop supports Component 3: Capacity Building and Awareness of the FARM Philippines Project by advancing the design and development of the project's Digital Hub.

The Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority (FPA), in partnership with FARM Philippines, will co-organize a Virtual Lecture titled, “Bridging Regulatory Pathways: Understanding EU and ASEAN Biopesticide Policy Frameworks” on 26 June 2026.

This activity is primarily intended for FPA Technical Staff and FARM representatives as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen technical knowledge and build institutional capacity in biopesticide regulation.

This lecture aims to understand regulatory frameworks and policy approaches adopted by key global authorities in biopesticide regulation. Familiarity with these international benchmarks will support FPA technical staff in aligning national regulatory processes with global best practices, enhancing the rigor and efficiency of pesticide evaluation, and advancing opportunities for regulatory harmonization.

The activity contributes to Component 3 of the FARM Project, which focuses on capacitating stakeholders and regulators on the registration of biopesticides. It also supports Component 1, which seeks to strengthen government regulatory frameworks and improve enabling policy environments.

The virtual lecture will feature distinguished resource speakers:

Through this initiative, FPA and FARM Philippines continue to foster knowledge exchange and strengthen regulatory capacity to support innovation and responsible development in the biopesticide sector.
