CUL Officers’ Regular Meeting Update
The Regular Meeting of the Cooperative Union of Laguna (CUL) Officers was held with almost complete attendance. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming Banamos and CUL Cooperative Month Celebration and its various activities.
One of the highlights discussed was the Cooperative Month Kick-Off Celebration, scheduled on October 2, 2026, at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). As part of the kick-off activities, CUL will conduct a feeding activity and donation to the pantry for the Iskolar ng Bayan.

This meaningful initiative was first conducted last April and received positive support from the participating cooperatives and the community. In view of its impact, the Board resolved to make the activity a semi-annual program, providing continuous assistance to students and strengthening CUL’s commitment to community development.

The program will be made possible through the pooling of the Community Development Fund (CDF) contributions of member primary cooperatives, demonstrating the spirit of cooperation and collective responsibility in giving back to the community.

Another much-awaited event is the CUL Culminating Coop Night, which will be held on October 30, 2026, featuring a fun and festive Hawaiian Theme. The celebration will include exciting games, a dance contest, and plenty of door prizes for everyone to enjoy.

With these activities, the Cooperative Union of Laguna looks forward to celebrating Cooperative Month with unity, fellowship, service, and the true spirit of cooperation.

The Cooperative Union of Laguna (CUL), in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) Region IV-A, successfully conducted the Training Workshop on "Conflict Prevention Management Program for Cooperatives" on July 9, 2026, at Monte Vista, Los Baños Hall, Pansol, Calamba City, Laguna.

The training was attended by 48 participants representing 18 cooperatives from the Province of Laguna. The activity aimed to strengthen the participants' knowledge and skills in preventing and managing conflicts within their respective cooperatives, thereby promoting harmonious relationships, sound governance, and organizational stability.

The workshop featured insightful and practical discussions from distinguished resource speakers: Atty. August Owen Magdato, Atty. Donnavelle C. Manalo, Legal Officer of CDA Region IV-A, and Ms. Tricia R. Tating. Through their expertise and engaging presentations, the participants gained valuable perspectives on conflict prevention strategies, legal considerations, mediation, and effective conflict management practices applicable to cooperatives.

The successful conduct of the training reflects the continued commitment of the Cooperative Union of Laguna and the Cooperative Development Authority Region IV-A to empower cooperatives through capacity-building initiatives that foster good governance, effective leadership, and sustainable cooperative development.
