EARTHQUAKE SAFETY REMINDER

Earthquakes can happen anytime and without warning. Being prepared and knowing what to do can help protect you and your loved ones.

Remember the three simple steps:

✅ DROP – Get down on your hands and knees.
✅ COVER – Protect your head and neck under a sturdy table or desk.
✅ HOLD ON – Hold on until the shaking stops.

If you use a cane, walker, or wheelchair, remember to secure your mobility device, protect your head and neck, and stay in place until it is safe.

Additional reminders:
🔹 Stay indoors during the shaking.
🔹 Keep away from windows and heavy objects.
🔹 Check for hazards after the earthquake.
🔹 Follow official advisories from local authorities.
🔹 Help others when it is safe to do so.

Preparedness saves lives. Let us all stay informed, stay ready, and stay safe.

Together, We Create Lasting Impact.

💙💛 A public safety reminder from Rotary Club of Lipa West.

Chapter 4: Smiles, Care, and Compassion: A Day of Service at House Sarang

On June 2, 2026, the Rotary Club of Lipa West brought smiles, hope, and compassion to the children of House Sarang through a meaningful Dental Mission led by Project Chair PP Dra. Ethel R. Lipat in partnership with Dental Elite.

The activity benefited 21 children of House Sarang, providing them with much-needed dental consultations and oral health care services. More than addressing dental needs, the mission served as a reminder that every child deserves care, dignity, and the opportunity to smile with confidence.

Joining the activity were Service Impact President Karen Lovely Palomo, fellow Rotarians, volunteers, and partners who generously shared their time and resources to make the project successful. The event also supported Rotary’s commitment to one of its Seven Areas of Focus—Disease Prevention and Treatment, promoting better health and well-being among vulnerable members of the community.

What made the day even more special was the generosity of PP Dra. Ethel R. Lipat, who went beyond providing dental care. Understanding the needs of the children, she personally donated black school shoes to help prepare them for their educational journey and also provided groceries for the House Sarang community. Her kindness reflected Rotary’s belief that service is not only about addressing immediate needs but also about creating lasting impact through compassion and genuine care.

Following the dental mission, the children and volunteers shared a joyful fellowship meal, creating moments of laughter, friendship, and connection. The simple gathering became a celebration of kindness, reminding everyone that service is most meaningful when it is shared from the heart.

The Rotary Club of Lipa West extends its heartfelt gratitude to PP Dra. Ethel R. Lipat, Dental Elite, House Sarang, our partners, and all volunteers who helped make this project possible.

Because of your generosity, the children of House Sarang received more than dental care—they received encouragement, support, and the reassurance that their community cares for them.

Together, we continue to Create Lasting Impact.

And so the story continues.

CHAPTER 3: BREAD WINNERS FOR A CAUSE

ROTARY CLUB OF LIPA WEST marked another meaningful milestone on May 20, 2026, with the successful launch of its first-ever fundraising activity, BREAD WINNER FOR A CAUSE, held in front of Big Ben, Lipa City.

More than just selling bread, this milestone event marked the beginning of a purposeful fundraising journey for ROTARY CLUB OF LIPA WEST, with proceeds dedicated to supporting the club’s service projects and meaningful initiatives for ROTARY YEAR 2026–2027 under the leadership of Service Impacting President Karen Lovely Palomo.

Beautifully chaired by PP Tess Katigbak, this inaugural fundraising effort was made even more special through the generous partnership with Pan De Maningas, bringing the community the now viral and trending Spanish Bread that quickly became the star of the day. Joining the event in full support were Pan De Maningas owners Michael Joe Mendoza and Ma. Teresa Mendoza, whose partnership helped make this initiative possible.

The event also drew incredible support from RCLW Rotarians and the wider community, with the presence of PDG Gina “GS” Sy, as well as social media personalities and vloggers Wally B, Juicyfruit (“kangipinjuicy”), and Tito Josh Vlog, who helped amplify the excitement and spirit of the activity.

And what an extraordinary start it was—250 boxes of Spanish Bread SOLD OUT in just one hour. 🎉🥖

But what made this day even more meaningful was this: ROTARY CLUB OF LIPA WEST did not waste any time.

Right after the successful fundraising event, club members headed straight to Barangay Malitlit, Lipa City, where they met with Barangay Captain Alfredo Villapando for an ocular community visit, including a visit to Anangi Elementary School. This purposeful visit marked the beginning of the club’s plans to focus its service efforts and meaningful community initiatives in Barangay Malitlit—taking time to listen, observe, and better understand where help is most needed. It is creating impact where it matter most!

What began as a simple pop-up selling activity became a powerful demonstration of what ROTARY CLUB OF LIPA WEST stands for—service with urgency, action with purpose, and leadership that quickly transforms ideas into impact.

And so, the story rises.
