IN PHOTOS | OSJCP 24th Commencement Exercises

With hearts filled with gratitude to God, the Oblates of St. Joseph College of Philosophy celebrated its 24th Commencement Exercises on May 8, 2026. This year, two graduates and one completer were formally recognized for their dedication and commitment throughout their years of intellectual formation.

Alongside the graduates, 8 completers of the Orientation Department was recognized. The Dean’s Listers and special awardees were also recognized for their academic excellence, exemplary conduct, and notable achievements throughout their journey this formation year 2025-2026. The celebration began with the Baccalaureate Mass at the St. Joseph the Worker Chapel, presided by Rev. Fr. Alexius V. Magtibay, OSJ, Provincial Superior, together with the OSJCS formators and priest-professors. This was followed by the commencement rites held at the Marello Retreat House.

The ceremony was graced by the presence of the commencement speaker, Rev. Fr. Omi O. Intia, OSJ, who shared the relevance of Marellian spirituality in today’s digital age. He also offered meaningful insights on the Philosophy of Science and Technology, encouraging not only the graduates but also the seminarians to remain grounded in faith, wisdom, and integrity amidst the continuing advancements of the modern world.

As the formation year 2025-2026 concludes, the community of the Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary held a Thanksgiving Party on May 7, 2026 dedicated to the two graduating students of the College of Philosophy, Sem. Jevy A. Arca and Sr. Maria Luisa Catilo, OSSJ, as well as to Rev. Fr. Aren I. Bejasa, OSJ, who served as their Spiritual Director. The celebration was filled with laughter, games, heartfelt messages, and performances from the seminarians.

Happy 50th Sacerdotal Anniversary, Lolo Ed!

As Rev. Fr. Edgardo “Lolo Ed” A. Bayani, OSJ marks his 50th year in the priesthood on April 30, 2026, the community of the Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary, together with his fellow conferers, family, relatives, and friends, celebrated this milestone the following day. The celebration began with a Eucharistic Celebration at 5:00 PM, followed by a program featuring performances by the seminarians and heartfelt messages for Lolo Ed. It was a simple yet meaningful gathering, filled with gratitude for his life, vocation, and years of faithful service.

On April 24-26, 2026, the community of the Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary went on their annual outing at Brizamar Beach Resort in Ilijan, Batangas where they spent time swimming, sharing stories, and appreciating the moment together. The first night was filled with laughter through “The Voice Ilijan,” where representatives from each class shared their "talents" in singing and gave lively performances. On the second day, everyone enjoyed the banana boat rides and the inflatable island, making the outing even more memorable. In its simplicity, the outing became a time of genuine joy, rest, and strengthened community life.

As the Oblates of St. Joseph celebrate the Year of St. Joseph with the theme, “Welcoming a Time of Grace: A Year with Marello” (November 25, 2025-2026), the OSJ College Seminary held its Marellian Week on April 13-17, 2026. Seminarians were grouped into three teams named after the virtues of St. Joseph Marello: Umiltà, Semplicità, and Fedeltà. They worked together during manualia, joined a volleyball tournament, and prepared for the different activities.

On April 15, the Marellian Symposium was held, where each group presented on the life and sainthood of St. Joseph Marello, as well as the history of the congregation. The following day, April 16, the volleyball championship game took place, with Team Fedeltà emerging as the winner.

During the Culmination Night on April 17, the Marellian Quiz Bee was held. Sem. Larche R. Sayson got the highest individual score, while Team Umiltà had the highest total points accumulated. This was followed by the presentation of Marellian Coffee Paintings and, the performance of the composed Marellian songs by each group. The highlight of the night was the Marellian Look-Alike 2026, where Sem. John Paul Valdez was declared the winner.

In celebration of the Resurrection of the Lord, the seminarians of the Oblates of St. Joseph College Seminary, together with their families, personnel, and formators, gathered for their Easter Celebration on April 12, 2026.

The celebration was filled with a banquet, songs, dances, and games prepared by the seminarians - highlighting the joy of the Risen Christ through the unity of the seminary community.
